True auto creativity has no limits. Because there are so many strange, funny, and just plain wrong cars for sale on online markets, even the most basic searches may lead to surprising results. For today’s example, someone was bored (or inspired?) and built a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan with a big turbo sticking out of the hood.

Josh Sprung, the seller, says he made the van in five days and posted a video of the process on his TikTok account. Sprung says a 3.3-liter V6 boosted from a Mack truck runs the Grand Caravan for up to four hours daily. The van is for sale on Facebook Marketplace for CAD 3,500 ($2,600). Even though the build time is supposed to be fast enough for a speedup, it has a complete list of support pieces and some real shoetree-level tech.

The most difficult parts of adding a turbocharger are the plumbing and the support for the turbocharger. This is a lot harder than most people think. Most of the time, it’s easy to find a cheap manifold to connect the turbo to. However, if you can’t find a good oil pressure feed and oil return feed, you may have to do some clever machining to get oil to the turbo. Sprung put a plastic tank with AN lines and an inline liquid pump under the front bumper. This fed the turbo and kept the rest of the system independent. In a technical sense, it works as it should. But if it doesn’t have an intercooler and the tank looks terrible, it could fail due to heat.

The remaining turbo parts are supported by a custom exhaust manifold, a Tial external wastegate with screamer pipe, an adjustable blow-off valve, a manual boost controller, larger fuel injectors, a small air-to-air intercooler attached with zip ties, and a short exhaust that dumps directly out of the turbo. Since there is no sign of engine management, it is probably running on the manual boost device and a little luck. The turbo is enormous, and the 3.3-liter engine might be unable to handle it.

In reality, $2,600 will get you a rusted, lowered Grand Caravan with a beautiful hood ornament. But if you live in Ontario, Canada, and want to drive a crazy car, you don’t have to look any further.
