Thanks to Ford’s price cuts, the Mustang Mach-E is still getting cheaper. It is now the least expensive muscle car and one of the least expensive new electric cars. Ford lowered the price of the Mach-E by a huge amount earlier this year. Now, for leased cars, the company is adding even more money to the hood, lowering the total monthly cost to as little as $448.

Ford is selling a base Select RWD Mustang Mach-E for as little as $9,600 after a $600 Summer Sale refund. The monthly lease payment will be $319 for 36 months, and a $4,649 down payment is due at signing. To get the $448 actual lease price, divide the first down payment into 36 equal monthly payments. As of this writing, the 2023 Mustang Ecoboost 2.3-liter is the least expensive gas-powered Mustang to buy, at $477 a month.

A Ford Mustang Mach-E is now cheaper to lease than a real Mustang

What is the difference between the Mustang Mach-E and the power car that Ford’s neighbor across the street makes? The V8-powered 1LT with an automatic transmission is said to be the least expensive Chevrolet Camaro to buy, at $483 a month.

Although the Mustang Mach-E has lower rental fees than vehicles with muscle car titles, it costs more to rent than similar electric vehicles. Even if you rent it, it’s not the cheapest electric car. The Chevrolet Equinox EV, the Subaru Solterra, and the Hyundai Ioniq 5 all have lower actual lease prices.

But it makes sense that EV drivers would like the Mustang Mach-E. This sleek and sporty SUV comes with rear-wheel drive, 246 horsepower, 387 lb-ft of torque, a lot of standard features, and a range of 250 miles. When you think of it as a sporty EV instead of just another EV compact, this new record-low lease price makes sense.
