When someone needs service on both a $170,000 Ferrari and a $25,000 sedan, they almost always go to different shops. Between 2017 and 2020, Honda will recall more than 2.6 million cars because their fuel pumps are broken. This means that it could happen very soon. A number of Acura cars are also shown, such as the NSX.

Honda says the recall is to fix Denso fuel pumps that might not work right and stop engines that are moving. Some features, like the power steering and brakes, will stop working together if the engine stops while the car is moving. I saw that those were pretty heavy when I looked. Honda is glad to say that they are not aware of any crashes that happened because of this fuel pump failure.

A recall has been made on the fuel pump in 2.6 million Honda and Acura cars. In fact, the NSX

Honda says that the impellers in the affected pumps were not made correctly, which means that the issue is with the fuel pump’s internal parts. The bad impellers may damage the internal fuel pump body over time, which will cause the fuel pump to go bad. There was no fuel, no engine, and no fuel pump. In February, owners of recalled cars will start getting letters asking them to gradually bring their cars in because Honda only has a limited supply of new parts. Here is the full list of cars that have been recalled.

It is funny that the Acura NSX is on the list. The recall covers almost all Honda and Acura cars, from the base Honda Fit to the NSX, which costs more than $200,000. So, both the Fit and Honda’s powerful 600-horsepower hybrid racecar use the same Denso fuel pump. If we’re being fair to the NSX, it’s funny to see an NSX owner eating from the food basket in the service area and making bad Keurig coffee for the same reason. So, Honda and Acura customers who are just starting can live as magically as if they had an NSX in their yard for a few hours.
