• Acura has said it will make a new SUV to replace the RDX, which is their entry-level model.
  • The small luxury SUV and the Integra will be marketed as entry-level cars.
  • The name is unknown, but it might be shortened to ADX or CDX.

For a long time, Acura has only had two SUV models. But soon, they will have a new, smaller sister to the mid-size MDX and the small RDX. Later this year, Acura will release a subcompact SUV. This will put the company in the same growing market as its luxury rivals, which have been using the Audi Q3, BMW X1, and Lexus UX for a while now.

A small SUV that is related to the Acura Integra will come out this year

Acura calls this new car a “gateway” model that will go with the Integra hatchback, which is currently the most basic model in the range. But right now, not much is known about it. This means it will be built on the same base as the Honda Civic. The Acura Integra and the Honda HR-V are also built on this platform. The next Acura should be about the same size as the HR-V, just like the RDX, which is about the same size as the Honda CR-V.

Acura has yet to say what the name will be, but we were able to find two nameplate applications that the company sent to the USPTO that look like good options. The first is ADX, a name we thought would be used for an Acura EV SUV but was instead given to the ZDX. The other one is the CDX, which used to be sold in China as a version of the Honda HR-V made by Acura. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months as Acura gets ready to add this new crossover to its lineup.
