As seen in these spy photos, Toyota is working on a new look for the Camry sedan. Even though the prototype is highly hidden, it is clear that it will have a unique look, even though it is based on a well-known design. Toyota is expected to come out with a few new powertrains, which could include an AWD hybrid car. The new Honda Accord just came out, and the current Toyota Camry has been on the market since the 2018 model year. The reliable and famous mid-size car has needed an update for a long time—photos of a 2025 Toyota Camry prototype that got out shows that a new model is coming. Even though the body of the three-box sedan hasn’t changed much, we expect the 2019 Camry to have a much better interior and a few new engine choices to keep it competitive in the family-sedan segment. The ninth-generation Camry will likely look like the current model. It will be a major update rather than a completely new car. It will be built on the same TNGA-K frame, but the front and back will look more modern, with headlights and taillights like those on the Toyota Crown. We can also look at the Crown for ideas on how to improve the Camry‘s engine. Since even the smaller Corolla now comes with an AWD hybrid option, the 2019 Camry will likely get the larger sedan’s 236-hp all-wheel-drive hybrid engine. The base 2.5-liter inline-four, which makes 203 horsepower, may be kept for lower trim levels unless Toyota decides to make the Camry a hybrid-only vehicle. The Highlander’s 265-horsepower turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-four may replace the 3.5-liter V-6 that Toyota has recently been phasing out of its lineup. The Camry’s interior is also ready for a change, and we know that the latest navigation system from Toyota will be standard. The new Camry has a 7.0-inch screen as usual, and a 9.0-inch screen as an option. We expect the Camry to have a 12.3-inch screen because newer Toyota cars have them. With the possible exception of a TRD speed model, the LE, SE, XSE, and XLE trim levels will be available. The base price is expected to increase from the current model’s $27,415 fee. Even though we have yet to determine precisely when the new Camry will come out, we wouldn’t be surprised if it made its public debut in late 2023 and went on sale in 2024 as a 2025 model.
