• After the 2024 model year, Toyota will no longer make the Venza.
  • The mid-size Toyota Crown Signia 2025 will take its place.
  • The two look similar on paper, though the Signia does a little better than its rival.

At first, the Toyota Venza was a plain crossover/wagon. After that, it was brought back to life as a hybrid-only SUV sold in some places under the much cooler name Harrier. A new mid-sized hybrid king is about to take the throne, so people will only talk about it in whispers of ancient times.

After 2024, the Crown Signia SUV will take the place of the Toyota Venza

Toyota has publicly said that the Venza will no longer be made after the 2024 model year. Instead, the 2025 Toyota Crown Signia hybrid SUV will be released. The mid-size market is already very crowded, so there can only be one. The two cars take up about the same amount of space. It looks more like the movie Highlander than the bigger but still mid-size Toyota SUV.

The three-motor hybrid engine in the Venza makes a total of 219 horsepower. That was enough to move the smaller Venza around, though only a little. And the Crown Signia has more power with a three-motor hybrid that makes 243 horsepower altogether. The Crown Signia has a continuously variable drive and can pull up to 2700 pounds. This means that people who need to move things might find it useful. But the Venza has never been tested to see how well it can pull something.

The Venza was advertised as a mid-size car, but it was actually pretty small. Its wheelbase was 105.9 inches with the RAV4 Hybrid, and the cabin was pretty small when you were driving it. Even though we don’t have official measures yet, the Crown Signia’s interior feels bigger than the last one. The Venza had a very cool electrochromic roof that could change how clear it was with the touch of a button. That roof will not be coming back, but the top Limited trim of the Crown Signia will have a normal glass roof instead.

It goes without saying that prices will go up along with this rise in output and impact. This car costs between $36,315 and $46,000 for 2024. Since that costs more than the Crown car, the new, bigger SUV will cost a lot more as well.
