  • This is only for the base Ioniq 6 with rear-wheel drive and a standard battery. The other models will get price cuts ranging from $2450 to $3050.
  • Invoice Pricing talked to a Hyundai representative who said the lower prices are because of “production efficiencies and scale.”

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 series is on sale for a lot less for the 2024 model year. The sleek electric car, our current EV of the Year, is now priced at $38,615, $4100 less than it was. Also, the prices of the extras that go with it have gone down by up to $2450 or $3050.

After losing more than $4100 in price, the 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 6 now starts at $38,615 miles

What made Hyundai lower the price of the Ioniq 6? A representative from the brand tells C/D that it’s because of “production efficiencies and scale.” No matter what, we will never be upset that new car prices have decreased.

Compare Prices on the Ioniq 6

The least expensive type is the SE Ioniq 6 with rear-wheel drive and a 53.0-kWh battery. All other cars come with the bigger 77.4-kWh battery, which costs $43,565 for the SE RWD and $47,065 for all-wheel drive. Both of them are now $3050 less than what they were in 2023.

The SEL and Limited versions of the high-end Ioniq car cost $2450 less than last year. The Low RWD starts at USD 51,265, and the SEL RWD starts at USD 43,565 for 2024. They can also get the new discount on their AWD dual-motor siblings, which start at $49,895 and $54,765, respectively.

EPA estimates the 149-hp Ioniq 6 can go 240 miles on a single charge when using the smaller battery. The longer battery life means that rear-drive models can go up to 361 miles, but the extra 20-inch wheels cut that range by 56 miles. In the same way, the 316-mile maximum number for Ioniq 6 cars with AWD drops to 270 miles when the wheels are 20 inches.

We tried the latter on our 75 mph interstate fuel economy route in 2023, which went 220 miles on a full charge. A ’23 Ioniq 6 SE RWD Long Range (18s standard) drove two hundred seventy miles in the same test. The EV sedan’s real-world range is undoubtedly a lot less than the EPA predicted, but at least the price has decreased to match.
