• Check out this restomod version of the classic late-’60s Dodge Charger, featuring a modern chassis and powertrain.
  • The wheels, which look like steelies, are made of aluminum, and the body is entirely made of carbon fiber.
  • Plus, the Hellcat V-8 supercharger comes with a manual drive, which makes it even better.

It may seem strange to think that the age of muscle cars has been going on longer than the late 1960s, but it is true. The famous orange second-generation Dodge Charger body style, which we all saw flying through the air on TV during prime time, was only made for three years. The updated Dodge Challenger was made for 15 years. But what if the two times were mixed together?

BaT Pick: 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Restomod Channels The Power Of The '60s

You can buy this restaurant-model Challenger-Charger set on Bring a Trailer, which is owned by Hearst Autos and works like Invoice Pricing. That’s exactly what it does. It has a Coke bottle body from the 1960s on top of a current Dodge chassis. The running gear is under the body. Even better, it has molded carbon-fiber bodywork by eXoMod, a Pennsylvania-based muscle car restoration master, instead of real 1960s sheet metal. Look at those wheels: deep-dished 20-inch cast metal wheels with hubcaps. If the bad guys in Bullitt had this gear, they would have left Steve McQueen behind.

This Challenger is based on how far the 2023 Hellcat Widebody Jailbreak can go. One of Dodge’s Last Call models has a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 engine paired with a six-speed Tremec manual gearbox. At the factory, it makes 656 lb-ft of torque and 717 horsepower.

This example also has adaptive dampers, automatic roll reduction, and stability control. Front brakes with six pistons from Brembo do the stopping job. The performance will be much better, but it will still look and sound like it did in the 1960s.

Of course, all of the modern features are there, like blind-spot tracking and navigation. ExoMod is known for making great builds, and the Challenger’s makeover is no different. It’s called the C68 Carbon.

The C68 Carbon looks like the album “Back in Black” by AC/DC. It is also the best of both muscle car eras.

The sale stops on January 29.
