Mazda is a small but mighty company that makes more than just the fast MX-5 that track day fans like. Like any other giant automaker, it must sell mass-market products to pay for its passion projects. The Mazda 3 is the company’s leading car. Everything else is built around it. A few years ago, the company started making “affordable and upscale cars.” All of the vehicles had a new design language and looked nice. So far, we’ve been happy with the new direction of the Mazda 3. The 2.5-liter Skyactiv-G engine in the 3 gives it an incredible speed of up to 60 mph, excellent handling, and high-quality internal materials for a small car in its price range. Mazda is raising the MSRP (maybe to account for inflation) to give a more focused product in 2024. No longer for sale is the 2.5 S Base Model Hatchback: The 2024 Mazda 3 2.5 S will only be offered as a sedan, which may disappoint people who want a hot hatch. In 2023, people who bought the least expensive Mazda 3 only cared a little about the cargo room so the car company could write it off. Even though you can still get a hatchback on other types, it will cost more to get one. For example, you can only get a hatchback with the six-speed manual 2.5 S Premium model. The 2024 Mazda 3 2.5 S car starts at $25,335-$25,380 in Alaska. A price increase of $1,720 from last year. (The pictures below are from the model year 2023; there is now only one picture of 2024.) Also gone is the 2.5 S Premium Package: In 2023, the Mazda3 Premium Package came in two varieties: the front-wheel drive (FWD) 2.5 S Premium Package with a six-speed manual transmission, and the all-wheel drive (AWD) automatic version. In 2024, Mazda will only sell the 2.5 S Premium with an FWD drivetrain and a manual gearbox. The Mazda 3 2.5 S Premium starts at $31,515 (or $31,560 in Alaska), $1,300 more than the Mazda 3 2.5 S Premium from 2023. Mazda may have worried that adding a second automatic gear with all-wheel drive and a higher trim level with more luxurious equipment would make the price too high for its customers to handle. The 2.5 S Carbon Edition is an option for those who still want that transmission and engine combination. In 2024, how much will the Mazda3 cost? The only significant changes between model years 2024 and 2023 of the Mazda 3 are the price, the loss of a trim, and the order of the basic body types. If you’re interested in buying a 2024 Mazda 3, here’s a complete list of prices. Add $45 to each price for Alaska.
