  • The Ranger MS-RT has a sleeker body, a front and back track that is 3.1 inches wider, and a better suspension system. There are also 1.6 inches less of it.
  • The MS-RT can be bought at Ford dealerships in Europe. It is made with help from M Sport, Ford’s rally race partner.

Early in the 2000s, people liked sports trucks that were good for the street. The Dodge Ram SRT-10 with a Viper engine, the Ford F-150 Lightning, and the Chevrolet Silverado SS were all popular choices. These lowered trucks might be coming back. Ford is trying a Maverick Lobo that is more athletic, and Toyota has hinted at a Tacoma X-Runner prototype. The public can now see the Ford Ranger MS-RT that has firm support. For now, this first look at the car only shows Rangers sold in Europe. It shows how an ST-badged version of Ford’s medium truck would look.

Europe's most bossy sports truck is the Ford Ranger. MS-RT

Most of the changes are just for looks. The front bumper has been changed to include a built-in front lip and a big lower grille with vertical vents on either side of it. The grille has a honeycomb design, and the tailgate now has a ducktail spoiler. A spoiler on the roof echoes this, and Ford says that these features make the car more stable at high speeds. The MS-RT also has a new rear bumper with a diffuser and sharp side skirts with a vent behind the front wheels.

The Ranger MS-RT has the largest wheels that have ever been made for a Ranger. They are 21 inches in diameter and have 275/45 Continental ContiSportContact tires on them. Each side of the track gets an extra 1.6 inches wide, which means the wheel arches have to be bigger. Ford also changed the back suspension and made the front dampers stiffer on the MS-RT. The truck has also been lowered by 1.6 inches, which Ford says will make it easier to drive and give it a more powerful look.

The fake leather and suede seats on the inside have a unique stitched design and an MS-RT logo, and they are also more strongly padded. A blue 12-o’clock marker has been added to the steering wheel, and the panel now has an MS-RT flag on it.

There have been no changes made to the 3.0-liter diesel V-6 engine, which makes 237 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. It is the same engine that is in the Ford MS-RT. A 10-speed automatic gearbox and four-wheel drive are part of the powertrain. Ford says that the MS-RT can still pull and move the same amount of weight.

A company called M Sport makes the MS-RT. They work with Ford to make rally cars like the Ranger race truck, which is ready for the Dakar. Ford has been making changes to commercial cars for a long time. The Ranger was released at the same time as a better Transit Custom van. There is a plant on the Ford production center campus that made the Ranger MS-RT. It will be sold at Ford Pro dealerships all over Europe. Deliveries should start in the middle of the year, but these cars will only be going in the United States.
