• Two new limited-edition Nissan GT-R cars have been added for 2024: the T-spec Takumi Edition and the Skyline Edition.
  • It has a gold-plated VIN, a red-scripted engine logo, and a Mori Green upholstery with Midnight Purple paint.
  • The Skyline Edition brings the JDM name to our shores with a new Sora Blue interior and Bayside Blue exterior.

A lot of smoke is being made about the R35-generation Nissan GT-R right now, and it’s not from the tires. A Japanese source said not long ago that Nissan plans to stop making the current model after the 2025 model year. He was mostly right when he said that Nissan would show the 2025 Japanese GT-R on time and that it would only be made in small numbers. Naturally, there was no news of its death. We now know more about two brand-new special versions of the 2024 Nissan GT-R that will be sold in the US.

Even though there were rumors of an end, the 2024 Nissan GT-R will have limited-edition models

Invoice pricing did talk to a representative from Nissan’s US team earlier this week about the rumors about what would happen to the R35, but they refused to comment. Today, the company gave more information about the T-spec Takumi Edition and the Skyline Edition. Nissan says that these ’24 cars will only be available in a “very limited number” here.

T-Spec and Takumi Edition

Takumi is the Japanese word for master makers. The 2024 Nissan GT-R T-spec Takumi Edition has a hand-built, twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-6 engine that was made by them. Under the hood, there is a gold-plated VIN and an engine sign with red-etched text to honor that.

The Takumi Edition has all the same upgrades as the regular GT-R T-spec. It has bigger front skirts, 20-inch Rays forged wheels painted gold, and carbon-ceramic brakes. The striking Midnight Purple paint job makes it stand out. The Mori Green color scheme on the seats and other objects inside is also unique.

The Skyline Edition

While most fans of Nissan’s famous sports cars know it as the Skyline GT-R, American versions have yet to be sold with that name. The 2024 Nissan GT-R Skyline Edition rolls out of the factory with a beautiful Bayside Blue paint job. According to the company, the color was taken away after the R34 model. That being said, it would come back in the 50th Anniversary Edition box.

We were a little envious when we heard that the 2025 Nissan GT-R JDM would have a beautiful blue interior. The Skyline made for the US market will have an inner color called Sora Blue, even though it is called Blue Heaven in other places. Isn’t it lovely, blue?

Nissan hasn’t said how much each of the two special edition 2024 GT-Rs will cost or how many will be made. By the time the cars hit showrooms this summer, that information should be easier to find. Will they be added to the R35 model’s last year? That we’re still trying to figure out.
