Ford’s deal with Tesla to get access to the Supercharger network gives its users the best chance of using fast charging stations. Tesla car owners will get CCS-to-NACS converters, and Tesla’s NACS link will be built into future Ford cars. But the Detroit Free Press says there is a problem because those adapters are taking longer to reach more people because of delays in production. Ford said earlier this year that adapters would be sent to people who used to own electric cars, like those who drive an F-150 Lightning or Mustang Mach-E. When Ford’s order system opened in late February, a lot of people rushed to use it. This showed that the adapters were in high demand. Emails are being sent to customers saying that supplies may be late, which is terrible because Ford needs to catch up. Ford is said to have admitted that it got the demand wrong, but it is also still waiting for the adaptor source. We feel free. We thought it would happen. “Reservations are still coming in, even though we’re only shipping once a week,” Marty Günsberg, a spokesperson for Ford’s Model E EV division, told the Detroit Free Press. There is a limited amount of stock. There are more sales, and people are still reserving their free adaptors. People consistently make reservations for our services. Due to a lack of adapters, Ford’s backlog of sales is also going down at a slower rate than planned. The improved 2024 Mach-E is already selling in record numbers—as of the end of May, sales had nearly doubled from last year. This is even though it came out years ago. At the moment, the Tesla Model Y is the only electric SUV that sells the most in the United States. Given Tesla’s falling demand, who knows how long that will last?
