The news about Mercedes-AMG is pouring out right now. The second version of the AMG GT coupe has yet to be shown off. The latest version came out in the fall of last year, and yesterday, prices were revealed for the 2024 AMG GT55 and GT53 models. The Mercedes-AMG GT43 car is coming out in 2025.

Four16 horsepower is made by the 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT43's rear-wheel drive setup

Welcome to the AMG GT43

The new base GT43 coupe stands out from higher models, especially when it comes to power delivery. The GT43 has a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 416 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque. An extra 48V system is built in. We were able to speed up the Mercedes-AMG C43 sports car to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. It had the same turbo four engine. The GT43 coupe has a little more power, but Mercedes says it will still only take about 4.5 seconds to hit 60 mph.

The GT43 car comes standard with rear-wheel drive, while the 402-hp C43 comes standard with all-wheel drive. The GT43 doesn’t have as much power or grip as the other AMG coupes, but its rear-wheel-drive system might make it more fun to drive. The Mercedes GT55 and GT63 have the 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine, which makes 469 and 577 horsepower, respectively. Mercedes says it takes the GT63 three seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph.

Aerial dance

The GT43 has a few performance-boosting tricks up its sleeve, even though it has the least power of the bunch. A hidden louver system on the front grille opens to let in more air and closes to cut down on drag. The movable spoiler in the back of the car moves up and down depending on the road conditions. Mercedes says the wing can be changed in five different ways above 50 mph to make the car easier to control or lower its drag.

The AMG GT55 and GT63 coupes will be available in the United States in the spring of 2024. The GT43, on the other hand, will wait a little longer. The new entry-level coupe’s price will be made public closer to its release date. It will eventually be sold as a 2025 model. Since more powerful AMG GT coupes will cost a lot more in 2024, the GT43 will start at more than $100,000.
