• Hyundai has unveiled a new teaser image of the upcoming Ioniq 9 SUV, just days before its debut at next week’s LA Auto Show.
  • A sample shows a rough sketch of the Ioniq 9’s interior, which the company says is “lounge-like.”
  • The Ioniq 9 will be the production model based on the previously revealed Seven concept car and will serve as Hyundai’s version to the Kia EV9, an electric three-row SUV.

Hyundai wants to release an electric three-row SUV together with Kia. Hyundai is about to show off the Ioniq 9, which is competing with Kia’s $56,395 EV9. Before it is shown at the Los Angeles Auto Show next week, Hyundai released two sketches of the Ioniq 9. The drawings show the car’s swoopy shape and “lounge-like” interior.

Hyundai Has Teased The Interior Of The Ioniq 9 Ahead Of Its Debut At The LA Auto Show

The Ioniq 9 appears to retain much of the original design, as seen in the initial teaser image. Thanks to the Ioniq9, Hyundai now has an electric three-row SUV to replace the famous gas-powered Palisade.

The nine will be built on the same E-GMP base as Hyundai’s other electric cars and Kia’s EV6 and EV9. The new Hyundai and the Kia EV9 will have most of the same specs. They are available with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The base model offers a range of 230 miles, while the higher-range trims provide a range of 304 miles. Light Long-Range versions of the EV9 have 201 horsepower, and Dual Motor versions have 379 horsepower.

The Ioniq will cost around $50,000, but we won’t know for sure until the car actually comes out. The car will likely go on sale in the US sometime in 2025. It will be shown off for the first time next week.
