Hyundai teamed up with the renowned Japanese racing icon Keiichi Tsuchiya, famously known as the “Drift King,” to create a special edition of the Ioniq 5 N. The Ioniq 5 N DK Edition comes equipped with a set of 12-inch forged wheels, which not only increase the track width but also reduce the overall weight. The special version has bigger brakes and new lowering springs that lower the car by 0.6 inches. Without a question, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is ready to make you happy. But who doesn’t like extra fun? Keiichi Tsuchiya, a Japanese drifting star also known as “Drift King,” worked with Hyundai to make a special version of the fast EV for the 2025 Tokyo Auto Salon. The drift version is called the Ioniq 5 N DK Edition, which is a good name for it. It is sold as an “exclusive N performance parts package.” It’s more than 24 pounds lighter and has better grip thanks to its 21-inch forged metal wheels. The wheels have brand-new six-piston brakes with a 54% bigger pad area that stops the car more quickly and lasts longer. With the help of new lowering springs, the car is now 0.6 inches lower. Hyundai says that the springs were professionally designed to work with the Ioniq 5 N’s electrically controlled suspension system. The skin comes next, starting with a big carbon-fiber wing on the back of the car. Carbon side skirts go all the way up to a front splitter that is just as easy to see, and a carbon diffuser that matches sits under the wing. Reports say the DK Edition’s extra bodywork will add 205 pounds of downforce at 87 mph. If the engine is the same as the regular car, the DK Edition has 641 horsepower. The all-wheel-drive system can send power to either the front or back wheels, depending on the driver’s choice. The DK version also has a drift mode that we expect to be used a lot. The DK Edition won’t be offered in North America, which is a shame. It was made by Hyundai and will be sold in Japan and Korea in 2025. Details about prices will be given later.
