• On March 30, Hyundai showed off the Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup car at a practice session for the 2024 Hyundai N Festival, a one-make race series in South Korea that will start in late April.
  • The Ioniq 5 N that is used on the road is the basis for the Cup car. However, the race version has better tires and a cleaner interior.
  • New eN1 class race cars will be shown off for the first time on April 27 at South Korea’s Inje Speedium track.

When the new Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup car comes out, it will be Hyundai’s first car in a brand-new professional electric racing series. The performance version of the Ionia 5 electric SUV, the Ioniq 5 N, is already fast. The new Cup car goes even further by meeting the strict requirements for professional racing.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N eN1 Cup Car That Makes Money

Hyundai began by completely remaking the car. The front looks completely different now, with a bigger lip and more noticeable dive planes sticking out from a better-designed front bumper. New over-fenders are part of the eN1’s body kit changes, and the huge rear wing stands proudly at the back of the car.

We want to lose weight and are open to any diet. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N used to be for sale. It was very pretty. The Cup car weighs about 4350 pounds by Hyundai, while the road car is heavier at 4900 pounds. Of course, getting rid of everything that you don’t need is a must if you want to lose so much weight. The big, old 21-inch wheels are no longer there. A new set of 18-inch forged wheels with race slicks has been put in their place. The heavy glass windows are swapped out for lighter polycarbonate ones, and the original hood is changed with a copy made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic (FRP).

Hyundai took anything it didn’t think was needed out from the inside. The driver’s bucket seat was the only one left after the regular seats were taken out. Hyundai gives each eN1 a fire extinguisher and an FIA-compliant roll cage to make it safer and lose some of its weight.

The power plant hasn’t changed on the inside. The eN1 Cup car has two motors that make 641 horsepower, the same amount as the road car. The normal car’s battery is also given to the race car. It has 84.0 kWh of usable energy and can be charged from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes. Hyundai hasn’t released speed numbers, but the standard car will go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.1 seconds, which is fast. The eN1 should be the same. Two-way dampers and an adjustable suspension with a high-voltage stop are some of the other changes.

Hyundai put the e-Shift code from the Ioniq 5 N into the eN1, which may make racing less competitive and more fun for spectators. The method creates a short-lived change in the power sent from the motors to the wheels, similar to the shock you feel when you shift gears in a regular dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The first race for the eN1 will be on April 27 at the Inje Speedium course in South Korea. It will be part of a brand-new series called eN1. The event will have open rules, which means that teams can use any tire they want instead of being limited to tires made by a certain company. The first official practice for the Hyundai N Festival will take place at Inje Speedium during the first round of the festival. As part of the fifth round, there will be ten races. There will be both traditional sprint races and one-on-one knockout competitions in the style.
