The Hyundai Sonata’s base price has dropped to $27,800 (all prices include $1,150 destination), and the SE grade is now standard instead of a choice. This comes after the car got a facelift for the 2024 model year. In order to keep its low starting price, the SE gave up some comforts, like heated seats, but it still has many safety and tech features. The SEL, which was the base trim last year, will only cost $250 more in 2025. For the new model year, the N Line now has a separate trim level called SEL Convenience, and the back passenger air vent is now mounted on the console. Details about the engine and MPG The 2025 Sonata has three different powertrain choices so that buyers can get what they want. The base Sonata has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 191 horsepower and 181 pounds-feet of torque, as well as an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Front-wheel drive is normal on the SEL trim level, but all-wheel drive can be added for an extra $1,500. The EPA rates the FWD SEL and SEL Convenience at 25/36/29 mpg, the AWD SEL at 25/34/28 mpg, and the Sonata SE at 28/38/32 mpg city/highway/combined. The Sonata N Line is a cheap sports car with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that gets a turbocharger. This engine produces 290 horsepower and 311 pounds-feet of torque. The N Line only comes with front-wheel drive. It has an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that makes it easier to drive and faster to change gears. It gets 23/32/27 mpg. On the other end of the Sonata scale is the combination. It has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that works with an electric motor and battery pack to make 192 horsepower. A six-speed transmission drives the front wheels. 44/51/47 mpg is what the EPA says about the hybrid. Cost and ease of access Soon, you’ll be able to buy the 2025 Sonata.
