Hyundai is hinting at the upcoming Ioniq 9, a three-row electric SUV scheduled for a November reveal. The Ioniq 9 was initially introduced through the Seven concept showcased in 2021. The design seems to remain largely true to the concept, featuring a long, streamlined body and pixelated lighting elements. The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is a famous electric crossover that won the EV of the Year award from Invoice Pricing in 2022 and again in 2024 with the high-performance Ioniq 5 N. In 2023, it sold about 34,000 units, and by the third quarter of this year, it had already sold more than 30,000 units. Hyundai has released the first teaser pictures for the Ioniq 9, which will go on sale in November. The company wants to build on the success of the Ioniq by entering the market for three-row EV SUVs. The Ioniq 9 was first hinted at by the Seven concept in 2021. Since then, the model’s number has grown, which could mean that Hyundai can finally add an Ioniq 7 to its lineup of electric cars. The Ioniq 9 will be Hyundai’s biggest electric vehicle. It will have three rows of seats. The electric SUV will be built on the same E-GMP base as Kia’s EV6 and EV9, with three rows of seats, as well as other Ioniq cars. They work closely with the Ioniq 9. Hyundai calls the Ioniq 9’s design language “Aesthetic,” which stresses how the car looks sleek and classy because of its focus on aerodynamics. The dark profile picture that was posted today shows the beautiful bodywork that has lines that curve back and a groove that goes from the headlights to the taillights. The lighting keeps the jagged look that Hyundai’s previous EVs created. In the picture of the front end, there is a bank of pixels below a row of LEDs that are lined up horizontally. From the outside, the Ioniq 9 looks a lot like the original Seven Idea. It has a long wheelbase and a thick D-pillar. As the official release date for the Ioniq 9 gets closer, Hyundai says it will give more hints. You will be able to get the Ioniq 9 in the US in 2025.
