I love the Chevy Corvette so much. These are nice-looking, strong cars that like making fun of rich Europeans. Also, no, I don’t own a Corvette, even though I’ve driven, tracked, and even seen them race at Daytona, Road Atlanta, and Le Mans. Things might change soon, now that I know Chevy sells these official Corvette C8.R car covers. The Invoice Pricing named the Corvette E-Ray the Best Performance Car of 2023, and it made me want to use Chevy’s online builder to make my own. After I chose my package, colors for the outside and inside, and a bunch of other choices, it gave me a bunch of random accessories for the ‘Vette. There is boring stuff like first aid kits, mud flaps (sorry, WRX bois), and engine block heaters in most car configurators. I was happy to find a nice car cover with the colors of an IMSA C8.R race car, though. I could also pick between the yellow No. 3 car and the silver No. 4 car. As a fan of Corvette Racing, this is a great chance to buy a cool souvenir of a car that will definitely live on since 2023 is the last year that Corvette will officially try to race. This is not a joke. The only thing that keeps me from getting this for my Honda Civic is how much the covers cost. The silver car cover costs $1,195, which is a little less than the yellow one’s $1,275 price tag. Additionally, if you’re not interested in the C8, you can still get a cute C7.R cover. That car cover was made for the C7 and not the C8. One of these will sell on Facebook Marketplace for a few hundred dollars, at which point I’ll buy one and put it in my trusty Civic. That would be a lot of fun.
