• Like its sedan sister, the Mercedes-Benz E-class All-Terrain station wagon will get a new generation for the 2024 model year.
  • The hybrid inline-six engine from the E450 car is new to the new All-Terrain, which also has a lot of new tech.
  • The latest generation has more legroom for passengers. The All-Terrain is 1.1 inches wider and 0.9 inches longer.

Mercedes-Benz is bringing back the E-class All-Terrain for a new generation, even though many people in North America hate the idea of a station wagon. In 2024, the E450 All-Terrain will come back. Like the E-class car, it will have a cutting-edge design and a hybrid drivetrain, just like the E-class sedan.

The use of technology in interior design

Like the 2024 E-class sedan, the new version of the wagon will focus a lot on technology. Like the car, the wagon will come with two screens as standard. Adding a third screen in front of the passenger, called the Superscreen, will also be possible. The system has a 14.4-inch tablet, a 12.3-inch display for the passenger, and a 12.3-inch instrument cluster that can be upgraded to show 3-D images.

When set up right, the new E-class All-Terrain will let you watch movies and games while the car moves. Third-party apps like TikTok and Angry Birds are available on the central screen. While the car is stopped, the driver can use Zoom for video conferencing.

The dashboard has ambient lighting, and the rest of the interior is made of leather and metal switches that look very high-end. An optional Burmester surround-sound system pulses the room’s lights to the music. The 2024 All-Terrain is 1.1 inches wider and 0.9 inches longer than the previous model, which is suitable for front and back-seat riders.

A six-cylinder inline hybrid engine is what gives the car its power

The hybrid four-cylinder choice for the E350 sedan is no longer available because the All-Terrain is only available in the E450. That leaves the turbo 3.0-liter inline-six from the E450, which is still an excellent tool for the E-class’s goal, at least in the car. The electric motor gives the six-cylinder engine an extra 23 horsepower and 148 pound-feet of torque. This lets the engine speed up quickly and stay incredibly quiet at high rates. The total output is 375 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 13 horsepower over the last model.

The car comes with a basic air suspension

The wagon comes with the optional air suspension that comes with the car. This gives the compression and rebound steps of the shock absorbers more clearance and allows the damping to be changed all the time. At speeds over 75 mph, the car’s comfort mode instantly lowers the vehicle by 0.6 inches to reduce wind resistance and save gas.

Mercedes hasn’t said how much the new All-Terrain will cost, but it will start at around $78,000 in America in 2024.
