Of the four Honda Ridgeline trim levels for 2024, the TrailSport is the one that is designed for off-road use. The Ridgeline TrailSport is a little taller and has a lot more grip, thanks to its all-terrain General Grabber A/T Sport tires. All versions are more comfortable to drive because the entertainment system is bigger and faster, and the console has been rebuilt. The word “rugged” is used nine times in the press materials for the 2024 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck. Three of those times are in the first two lines, which suggests that the new TrailSport trim is Honda’s main marketing focus for the updated Ridgeline. The TrailSport has the most features, but all 2024 models have more useful features inside and new design touches. If you buy a Ridgeline in 2024, you can choose from four trim levels: the Sport, the RTL, the new TrailSport with all-terrain tires and skidplates, and the Black Edition. There is a special version of the TrailSport with a bigger mesh and underbody protection. It also has pewter-gray 18-inch wheels with General Grabber A/T Sport tires, power-folding mirrors, and a unique sky blue paint choice. Everyone will be able to see which truck you’re backing up because “Ridgeline” is now written on the trunk from edge to edge. The Ridgeline’s back end is more than just the name of the truck. Honda’s “Dual Action” trunk can open in two ways: it can swing open like a door, or it can open in the more common hinge-down way, which makes getting to the bed easier. People who want a truck that can really do truck things, like hauling goods, will like the big bed that can fit a four-foot piece of plywood laid flat across it. Tailgaters will enjoy the built-in seats and the 7.3-cubic-inch cooler under the floor. It won’t be hurt by freight either since it has eight tie-down points and is made of a composite material that doesn’t need a bedliner. The Ridgeline has a roomy cabin that makes people feel relaxed. The back seats can be split in half and have secret storage spaces. The seats are also heated, and the steering wheel is heated for extra comfort. The revised console is the most obvious change. It has a bigger, more comfortable armrest, cupholders that are deep enough to hold two buckets of cold coffee and room for a tablet or small laptop inside. As standard, there is a 7.0-inch digital set of gauges and a haptic needle that moves across the speedometer. The 9.0-inch infotainment screen on the right has a faster CPU and fewer choices. It also has a small edge that you can rest your palm on when you swipe. You can count on a quick answer. The phone tray on the front of the machine can fit two phones side by side, but only one of them can be charged wirelessly. Pairing your phone is an important feature for both Apple and Android users. The premium audio system comes with better speakers for Black Edition customers, which improves the music quality. The Ridgeline has a 3.5-liter V-6 engine that makes 280 horsepower and 262 pound-feet of torque. It has a gearbox that has nine speeds. Although Honda hasn’t made any major changes to the frame, it is still a one-piece design that can carry up to 1,583 pounds and pull up to 5,000 pounds. The TrailSport keeps the same frame but changes the springs, dampers, and stabilizer bars to make the off-road experience better. A metal skid plate is clamped to the front of the frame to protect the V-6’s oil pan from sharp rocks. The Honda i-VTM4 torque-vectoring system can send up to 70% of the truck’s power to the back tire or wheels if needed. All Ridgelines have all-wheel drive. The TrailSport also has different terrain settings, such as throttle and grip control systems, which make it work better in mud, sand, and on the road. There is also the HPD package in the 2024 Ridgeline lineup, in addition to the TrailSport level. This kit comes with HPD graphics, black fender flares, unique wheels, and a new grille. The Honda Sensing package of driver-assistance technologies comes standard on all Ridgeline models. New models are set to hit the market in early December 2023.
