• The full range of prices for the new Volvo EX30 EV SUV has been made public.
  • The small EV with a single motor and a long range starts at a cheap $36,245.
  • Pre-order configurations will start later this fall, and shipping should begin in the first quarter 2024.

With this one, it will be harder for people who don’t like EVs to say that the entry limit is too high. The total price range for the upcoming Volvo EX30 crossover has been made public, and the brand’s smallest EV SUV is much cheaper than the C40 Recharge and the XC40 Recharge.

The EPA estimates that the EX30’s range is 275 miles, and it has a simple single-motor rear-drive system with 268 horsepower and 253 pound-feet of torque. Volvo offers three trim levels: Core, Plus, and Ultra. All three use the same base engine. The Core starts at $36,245, the Plus goes up to $40,195, and the Ultra goes up to $41,895. The Plus version has a Harman Kardon sound system, a two-tone Onyx Black panoramic roof, and 19-inch metal wheels. When you buy the top trim, you get more features, like the latest version of Pilot Assist and a camera that can see in all directions.

A dual-motor, all-wheel-drive improvement adds 422 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of power. With this model with the same battery, the expected range drops to 265 miles. Volvo says the EX30 can go from 0 to 60 mph in less than 3.4 seconds. This is because it has two motors. The single-motor EX30 comes in three trim levels, while the dual-motor EX30 takes the place of the Core. At $46,195 and $48,895, the Plus and Ultra grades are $6,000 more expensive than their rear-drive peers.

Volvo says that people who deposit can customize and pre-order their EX30 later this fall, and sales should start in the first quarter of 2024.
