• Minor changes are made to the 2024 Honda Passport, with the TrailSport trim level getting the most attention.
  • The TrailSport can now handle more tough off-road obstacles than before because it has all-terrain tires and a reworked suspension.
  • The top trim level is now the Black Edition instead of the Elite, and the Passport has a more giant center console with more storage room.

Since the Honda Passport name came back in 2019, it has given people a mid-size SUV with two rows of seats as an alternative to the larger SUV with three rows, the Honda Pilot. The Passport needs a similar change now that the Pilot has moved to a new generation and platform. In the meantime, it gets some minor changes that improve the interior and make the TrailSport trim more useful.

An important kind of TrailSport

A few years ago, when the off-road-focused TrailSport was added to the Passport range, its rough exterior gave the impression that it could do more than it could. It was made better with a new grille, black fender flares, and HPD graphics that could be added. Unfortunately, the basic Passport suspension and all-season tires make the car look less intense than it is.

Honda has fixed these problems with the 2024 TrailSport, which now has General Grabber ATX all-terrain tires with more knobs. Changes were made to the spring rates, dampers, and anti-roll bars to make the car handle and ride better when the concrete stops. The front and back tracks of the TrailSport have been made 0.4 inches wider, and it now has 18-inch wheels.

The HPD+ package from Honda has a different head, black over-fenders, and 20-inch wheels. Underbody safety is now one of the many Honda accessories you can buy. The beautiful Diffused Sky Blue color first seen on the new Pilot TrailSport is now available on the Passport TrailSport.

The Center of the Passport Console was updated

The 2024 Passport’s inside is very similar to that of the one before it. The only significant change is that the middle console is now more comprehensive. Honda says that the car can now fit a full-size tablet and that the larger space in front of the shifter can hold two phones side by side. Extra-large handles have been put in the front seats to make it more comfortable to lay back.

Customers who want the most luxurious experience should look for the Black Edition, which has replaced the Elite trim level as the top-of-the-line Passport. Before, the nickname was part of a package of looks, but now it is used independently. As the name suggests, the Black Edition has dark features on the outside, such as black 20-inch wheels, badges, a grille, and body shaping. Other standard features include leather upholstery with holes, front seats that let air in and out, and heated back seats. Only this trim has red stitching and internal lights that match.

This fall, you’ll be able to buy the 2024 Honda Passport. Even though the prices have yet to be announced, we don’t expect them to go up significantly. The base model that was being replaced cost $42,475, the TrailSport cost $44,975, and the Elite cost $47,935. About $1,000 should be added to each of these.
