• The MB.EA design will be used for future Mercedes electric cars.
  • A battery-electric SL might be on the market by the end of the decade.
  • The company is expected to stop making its EQ line of electric vehicles since most of its gas-powered cars are now electric.

Mercedes’ new plan is to offer the highest level of luxury, and big changes are on the way. You can expect the company to get rid of low-margin cars like the A-class, which was already taken off the US market. The new E-Class All-Terrain might be the last long-roof car made in the United States since wagons are also being removed. The move to electric cars will affect every part of the Mercedes brand, from the entry-level cars to the AMG and Maybach subbrands.

In the future, Mercedes-Benz will make fewer EQs and more EVs

EQ Badges are Out for New Sites

The company isn’t just focused on its most expensive models; its EV-specific EA architecture and EV-oriented MMA platform will also help its cheaper models. The next-generation CLA class will be hosted on the MMA platform, as seen above. It will look like the idea that came out last year, which is shown above. There will be models that run on gas and models that run on batteries. Mercedes even said there was a chance that the CLA with shooting brakes would come to the US.

The smaller version of the EA platform, called MB, will be offered for the new C-class.EA-S. The MB is a good top phone. Soon, the EQS and S-class will be replaced by the EA-L platform, which will be the base. The new models will come out in 2028. The best car in 2028 will probably be an electric SL, and the next best will probably be a Gullwing coupe.

In the next few years, the company will likely slowly stop making electric cars with the EQ logo. This fits with earlier rumors that the company was going to stop making this subbrand because the switch to electric cars for the whole lineup made it useless.

Both Maybach and AMG

Between now and then, Mercedes-AMG plans to release the first of four very powerful electric vehicles in 2026. Everybody is going to get an AMG. At first, the EA chassis will be used as the base for sporty SUVs and cars that have electric drive motors and a custom battery pack. Mercedes has already shown off the Vision AMG, an electric concept car that could give us a look at how these cars might be designed in the future.

Mercedes-Maybach also plans to add substance to the bling by making future models with more unique designs. The subbrand has said that it wants to make “Myth” and “Legends” models, which will be even more exclusive, expensive, and high-status.
