• The 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric costs at least $34,010. That’s $875 less than the group that’s leaving.
  • The 2019 Kona EV also comes in two other trim levels, the SEL and the Limited. The SEL starts at $38,010, and the Limited starts at $42,380.
  • You can’t get the $7,500 government EV tax credit for the ’24 Kona Electric because it wasn’t made in the US.

The starting price of the 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric is about $900 less than that of the previous model, but it has more features and is bigger on the inside and out. As time goes on, new cars keep getting more expensive, so it’s nice to see one that’s actually less expensive.

It now costs $34,010 to buy a Hyundai Kona Electric 2024

How Much Does the New Kona EV Cost?

For 2024, the base SE trim of the Kona Electric was changed and now costs $34,010. When it first came out in 2023, it cost $34,885, so this is $875 less than that. In the new generation, you can still get both the high-end Limited and the mid-range SEL. They go from $38,010 to $42,380, going up in that order. The first one costs $625 less than the last one, and the second one saves you $505.

When Hyundai could have raised the price of the new Kona Electric, they chose to lower it instead. That could make up for the fact that the small SUV can’t get the $7500 government tax credit right now. Following the rules of the Inflation Reduction Act is not possible since it was not made in the United States.

When we asked a Hyundai representative if the price drop was because of that event, they did not respond. For now, anyone who wants to lease a Kona Electric car should be able to get credit.

There is still only one electric motor in front of every 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric. The base SE now has 133 horsepower and a 48.6-kWh battery pack. The SEL and Limited, on the other hand, have 201 horsepower and a larger 64.8-kWh battery pack, which the EPA says will give them a range of up to 261 miles. All Kona EVs used to have the same engine and battery size. Hyundai says that a DC fast-charging link can bring a battery’s charge from 10% to 80% in 43 minutes.
