• Jaguar will release three new cars. The initial iteration of this concept will take the form of an electric “four-door GT.”
  • This car has a range of 430 miles and will be driven by an electric architecture called JEA.
  • Jaguar says the new model will cost around $124,000. It will come out later this year, and sales will start in 2025.

We last heard about a new Jaguar long ago, but now we know what the British luxury carmaker has in store for us. Jaguar’s new electric car, a “four-door GT,” will be shown off later this year, and sales will start in 2025. The company has released a teaser picture and some early information about the new platform, such as how much power it will have and how far it is expected to go.

Even though the video doesn’t show much, it shows off the car’s broad rear haunches and sloping roofline. This Jaguar could go up against the Porsche Taycan car, which is different from the British company’s old plans for an all-electric full-size luxury sedan called the XJ, which were scrapped a few years ago.

If the Jaguar is going to fight with the Taycan, it needs to have excellent performance. The company says that this car will have more power than any other Jaguar has ever had. Since the most potent Jags on the market have a 575-horsepower supercharged V-8 gas engine, we expect the new electric car to have at least 600 horsepower. Its unique JEA base will allow two more Jaguar cars to emerge after the GT. If the Jaguar EV is sold in the United States, the EPA thinks the original range figure of 430 miles, based on the WLTP cycle, could translate to around 300 miles.

Jaguar says that “indicative pricing” is around £100,000, which, at the present exchange rate, is about $124,000. It might have changed when the company started booking this new model in 2024, and it won’t be delivered until 2025. The GT will be made at Jaguar Land Rover’s Solihull plant in the United Kingdom. It is anticipated that it will be out later on this year.

This new car is part of Jaguar Land Rover’s plan to spend £15 billion over the next five years to make all its vehicles electric. The company is updating many factories and wants to make Land Rover and Range Rover mid-size luxury SUVs on a new base called Electric Modular Architecture (EMA), which can only be used for electric cars.
