The brotherhood-of-muscle brand had more surprises in store, even though they had hidden the production version of the 2019 Dodge Charger Daytona from view for almost a year after showing off the amazingly similar concept. We learned that the Daytona E.V. will come with either two or four doors. We also learned that the Charger will come in two different gas-powered versions for each body style. We’re here to help you understand the details because the production rollout is a little tricky, and the features and trim levels of the two Daytona models you can choose from are different.

Setting up and sending out

Only the electric Charger, which will come out in R/T and Scat Pack models, is called Daytona. For the 2024 model year, there will be two-door Daytonas that look like coupes but have separate back hatches. Stellantis’ Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada, will start making them this summer. The cars will be available at shops in the fall.

For the 2025 model year, Dodge will release the Daytona, a car with four doors. The gas-powered Charger Sixpack will also be shown for the first time. It has a 3.0-liter straight-six twin-turbo engine with two power levels. The high-output (H.O.) engine will make 550 horsepower, while the standard-output (S.O.) engine will make 420 horsepower. Things start to get a little fuzzy. In the first four months of 2025, the two-door Sixpack H.O., the four-door Daytona, and the four-door Sixpack S.O. will start to be made. The four-door Sixpack H.O. and two-door Sixpack S.O. are likely to go into production later next year, but exact times are still unknown (unless Dodge decides that these are the only two configurations for the Sixpack, in which case TBD).

The high-performance Charger Banshee, which is set to come out in 2025, is expected to come out around the same time. It will have a unique two-speed gearbox and an 800-volt architecture, which is twice as much as a regular Daytona. The Banshee is the electric version of the V-8 Hellcat. It will have about 807 horsepower and take more than 10 seconds to go the quarter-mile.

Making Daytona Trims Stand Out

The Dodge Charger Daytona will be the first electric vehicle to go on sale in 2024. Electric vehicles (E.V.s) are easy to spot because they have a unique R-Wing front end with a pass-through hole, which is not available in gas-powered vehicles.

For the 2024 model year, both the R/T and the Scat Pack will have two electric motors that work together to give them all-wheel drive. However, the R/T will come standard with a Stage 1 kit from Dodge’s Direct Connection that boosts peak power to 496 horsepower, while the Scat Pack will get a Stage 2 kit that boosts peak power to 670 horsepower. As of next year, when those kits become available, entry-level E.V.s will have less power. The Scat Pack and R/T both have a 93.9-kWh battery, but the Scat Pack’s range is reported to be 260 miles and the R/T’s to be 317 miles.

The Scat Pack has 21-inch wheels, while the R/T comes with 18-inch wheels. Every Daytona has fully independent suspension, but the dampers on higher trim levels are better, and the Track Pack for the Scat Pack (more on that later) comes with adaptive dampers as an extra. In 2024, both Daytona types will come standard with upgraded Brembo brakes that have 16.1-inch rotors and fixed two-piece front calipers, which is what the Track Pack usually comes with.

The Scat Pack has a digital gauge cluster that is 16.0 inches, but the R/T already has one that is 10.3 inches. The R/T’s basic upholstery is made of both cloth and vinyl. The front seats have headrests that can be moved. Automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go functionality, blind-spot tracking, a driver-attention monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and traffic sign recognition are some of the driver-assistance technologies that come standard on both Daytona models.

The Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack also has different driving modes. It has Track, Drag, Drift, and Donut on it. The second two are really interesting. In “doughnut” mode, traction control doesn’t help, so the car can only turn its back wheels. In drift mode, the driver can choose from three slip-angle choices. This sets the rear axle to receive more torque. Different options for the dampers and traction control have been made so that the Scat Pack can slide around like it’s in Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift. In the Race Prep mode, drivers can get the Scat Pack even ready for a racetrack lap or drag strip run by getting the battery hot or cold as required.

For Extra Equipment

When they go on sale, the Daytona R/T and Scat Pack will not be available in a single size. Customers can add many extras and packages to each car to make it their own. The car has an 18-speaker Alpine sound system, an augmented reality-powered head-up display, and adjustable ambient interior lighting that syncs with drive-mode settings, driver inputs, and other animations. It also has a full-length glass roof instead of the standard black-painted surface.

Dodge has announced a number of option packages. These include the Blacktop package, which comes with black 20-inch wheels; the Plus package, which includes “Attitude Adjustment” ambient interior lighting and high-backed seats with fixed headrests; the Carbon & Suede package, which has carbon-fiber trim and faux-suede accents, and the Sun & Sound package, which likely comes with a panoramic roof and an upgraded stereo, but prices have not been announced yet. Customers can also pick between red or black Nappa leather for the inside. A 360-degree video system that helps avoid curb rash, a camera view that shows blind spots on the gauge display, and front and rear parking sensors are all available as options for driver assistance.

People who buy the Scat Pack can also choose to buy the Track Pack, which comes with performance tires and wheels in addition to the brake upgrades already stated. The set comes with twenty-inch wheels that are eleven and a half inches wide in the front and eleven and a half inches wide in the back. They have Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires that are stacked and measure 305/35ZR-20 up front and 325/35ZR-20 out back. The Track Pack also comes with a performance data recorder that lets users keep track of and study their on-track drives. There is also a dashcam function that you can control by hand.
