Monterey Car Week returns, allowing us to view and hear the world’s most costly and luxury cars. Every year, the world’s richest automotive aficionados converge in Monterey, California, for a week of fossil fuel-fueled ego-stroking. Pebble Beach Concours of Elegance, vehicle Week’s highlight, is the world’s best vehicle exhibition. This proves that strutting is real. Car collectors value autos with Pebble ribbons. Unless they’ve changed hands and been restored, Concours automobiles can’t return within ten years unless they’re original preservation cars. If it interests you as much as it does us, you can attend the event without paying hundreds of dollars. As in years past, reporters will scout our favourites and liveblog online. Check Instagram for the most incredible sights and sounds. Use the choices below to learn from the source. Pebble Beach Motoring Classic runs August 7–20. Unlike other Monterey Car Week cars, the Pebble Beach Motoring Classic automobiles will drive as far as the abandoned project behind your house. In eight days, contestants will leave Kirkland, Washington, on August 8 and drive 1,500 miles to Monterey, California. Last year, a car and two people cost $14,000. This excluded Monterey accommodations. If you can’t get there, you can’t hear this one. Owners won’t upload Instagram photos while driving. Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion ran August 16–19. The best antique race cars will compete at Laguna Seca Raceway from August 17 to 20. Five hundred fifty automobiles attended the Corvette’s 70th anniversary this year. The event will feature vintage Corvettes, Formula One cars, Trans Am racers, and 1970s IMSA vehicles. Use #RolexReunion, #MontereyCarWeek, and #WeatherTechRaceway on social media to follow the Laguna Seca YouTube feed. Race event Quail (August 18) The Quail is Pebble Beach’s most opulent event, yet most visitors come for the Concours. Italy’s contest (August 19) The Concorso Italiano showcases up to 1,000 Italian vehicles and motorcycles because the car industry relies on them. Learn more at @concorsoitaliano and #concorsoitaliano. August 19 saw the California Concours of Lemons. The purposefully strange Concours of Lemons is a terrific way to unwind if reading about rich people who possess antique and rare cars makes you feel guilty about your wrinkled dollar bill. Visit the Lemons website or follow @concoursdlemons and #concourslemons for details and an August 19 summary video. August 20 is Pebble Beach Concours of Elegance. If your bank account is like ours, you can’t afford $525 for each ticket, lodging, and food. The Concours of Elegance will air online on August 20. Use the official Pebble Beach video to make a gorgeous drink with your preferred liquor. Even if you knot your bow tie poorly, no one will laugh, and it will cost less than beers on the lawn in California.
