Toyota has made some changes to the hydrogen-powered Mirai for 2024. The most noticeable change is the addition of the Beyond Zero logo, which was first seen on the Prius. Toyota only sold 2,737 of the fuel-cell car in 2023, which was the best year for sales of the Mirai. The only car that the Mirai competes with in terms of sales is the Hyundai Nexo. However, a hydrogen-powered version of Honda’s famous CR-V could soon join the list of cars that compete with it. Toyota has a lot of regular cars, wagons, sports cars for fans, and off-road SUVs, and the hydrogen-fuel-cell-powered Mirai is sometimes forgotten among them. Toyota has stated that it will keep making this one-of-a-kind sedan until 2024. The Mirai will also be improved before it can compete with new small hydrogen cars on the market. The most noticeable change for 2024 is the new Beyond Zero badges. The small round blue sign was first seen on the 2023 Prius. It is now being used on Toyota’s newest hybrid and electric cars, like the Grand Highlander Hybrid Max. The Mirai has the letters “FCEV” on it, which means “fuel-cell electric vehicle.” You can now get the Mirai in Elemental Silver, and the symbol has been changed. As part of Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, the 2024 Mirai has features that help the driver, such as adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and pre-collision emergency braking with pedestrian recognition. The Mirai still works the same way it did before. The gas fuel cell turns an 182-horsepower electric motor that moves the back wheels. The base XLE type can go 402 miles on a single tank of hydrogen, but it takes 9.1 seconds to reach 60 mph. Your range drops to 357 miles when you move up to the more luxurious Limited trim level. Toyota also gives people who use the Mirai fuel cell $15,000 in hydrogen. The starting price for the Limited goes up to $51,215, and the top price is $68,180. Most things have stayed the same in general. The Mirai, on the other hand, will only have to do a little to attract the few buyers who want to try hydrogen when its second model goes into production in 2021. In the United States, there are now only two fuel-cell cars for purchase. The Hyundai Nexo is the only car that competes with the Mirai, and both are only sold in California. Even though it was a small number, Toyota sold 2,737 Mirais in 2023, which was 31% more than the previous year and the best sales year for the car so far. The Nexo, on the other hand, found only 241 houses, which is 41% less than in 2022. This year, Honda is going to make a hydrogen-powered version of its famous CR-V SUV, which could be a threat to the Mirai. The Ohio Performance Manufacturing Centre will make the car. As of last year, Honda said that its new fuel-cell technology is two-thirds cheaper and has a stronger design than its earlier effort, the Clarity Fuel Cell. The next hydrogen car to compete with the Mirai is almost here. General Motors and Honda have officially announced that they have started making fuel-cell units together in Michigan.
