• A new Honda Civic hybrid has been shown off. It will be available in 2025.
  • There will be two body styles for the hybrid powertrain: hatchback and car.
  • This summer, the hybrid will go on sale, and the other 2025 Civic models will get new looks and features.

In 2025, the Honda Civic will get a whole new look, and there will even be a hybrid version. Even though we already knew that a gas-electric Civic would be back, Honda has now released pictures of the new car and changed the look of the 2025 Civic line.

New wheels make the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid look even better

This picture shows the 2025 Honda Civic Hybrid sedan in Sport Touring style. Aside from the hybrid badge on the back, the new front bumper and grille, along with the sleek new wheels, look a lot like the aggressive style of the old Civic Type R. Honda said that the 2025 Civic will get new features, but they haven’t said what those features will be yet.

The Civic Hybrid will likely have a smaller fuel engine than the Accord and CR-V hybrids, but it will have a lot of the same parts as those bigger cars. We wouldn’t be surprised if the Civic Hybrid got a 1.5-liter gas engine instead of the 2.0-liter inline-four. This would be similar to how the Civic-based Insight was built, which was phased out in 2022.

What this means for the Civic’s standard engine choices, which are a 2.0-liter inline-four and a 1.5-liter turbo-four, needs to be clarified. Honda says the lineup will be set up like the CR-V and Accord, with some trim levels only coming in non-hybrid form and others coming in hybrid form. From the picture of the top Hybrid Sport Touring model, the higher trim levels will only come in a hybrid style. In 2020, Honda thinks that 40% of all Civic sales will be hybrids. The 2025 Civic Hybrid will go on sale in the US this summer. Stay tuned for more information coming soon.
