It goes without saying that car fans all over the world want Hyundai to make the N Vision 74 real. The N Vision 74 is one of the most interesting hypothetical cars of the past few years. Fans will definitely want to see it come to life because it has 671 horsepower, a style that is more cyberpunk than the Cybertruck, and a unique way of moving that uses hydrogen. If Korea Economic Daily is right, it will reach this goal by 2026, which is more powerful than what was thought. According to reports, Hyundai’s hydrogen fuel cell racecar, codenamed N74, will feature gullwing doors and a sleek two-door coupe body style. As an official Hyundai partner, Korea Economic Daily reveals that the company intends to commence mass production of the N74 in June 2026, with a target of 100 units per year for the first two years. A supplier confirmed, ‘We aim to complete the manufacturing of the N74 components by July [2024] and supply them to Hyundai Motor.’ The N74 is set to feature two electric motors powered by a hydrogen fuel cell and a 70-kWh battery pack, mirroring the N Vision 74 concept. However, the production model is projected to boast a staggering 764 horsepower. The innovative fuel cell is expected to power the motors primarily, utilizing the battery’s energy for rapid acceleration. It’s rumored that the N74 could achieve a 0 to 60 mph speed in just three seconds at its top speed. This study came out just three months after Albert Biermann, who used to be Hyundai’s head of research and development and is now an executive technical assistant, said that the N Vision 74 wasn’t ready for production. Biermann explained why the company decided to stop making very expensive, limited-edition supercars and start focusing on making more cheap sports cars for most of its customers. He told Carscoops, “We are not making show cars,” and he was right. However, Hyundai might not be able to say no to a high-performance, eco-friendly flagship. Rumor has it that Hyundai plans to build 200 N74s, with each one costing around $370,000. Most want this to happen. The N Vision 74 was one of the most exciting designs I’ve seen in a while, thanks to its huge power and beautiful, futuristic look that Giugiaro influenced. A brand that is easy to get and doesn’t charge too much would also be interesting to see make the first hydrogen racecar in history.
