• The electric vehicle business displayed a Polestar 6 BST concept at Goodwood Festival of Speed. The automobile will debut in 2026.
  • The Polestar 5 and 6 will both have four doors and be all-wheel-drive roadsters with two motors. They will share the same base.
  • At the Goodwood event, people saw the Concept BST go up the 1.2-mile hill-climb course.

At this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, a concept version of the 884-hp Polestar 6 will race up the 1.2-mile hill climb. This is two years before the car goes into production.

Polestar Concept BST was one of the best things at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

The Polestar Concept BST is a sight to behold, with its striking design elements such as the imposing rear wing, wide fenders, and hood vents. The car, aptly named ‘beast ‘, is powered by the company’s own bonded-aluminum Polestar Performance Architecture (PPA), a testament to Polestar’s innovative engineering. This architecture was developed at Polestar’s R&D lab in the MIRA Technology Park in the UK, which is about 180 miles north of the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Like other designs, this one is meant to get people’s attention before the Polestar 6’s official launch in 2026. Polestar said that the six will be a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive roadster that can go from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds, but it’s still too early to confirm all the details. It is built on the same platform as the Polestar 5, a prototype with four doors that came in first place at the Goodwood hill climb last year. The Polestar 5 and 6 are different from the other cars in the line because they have an 800-volt architecture that lets them charge quickly.

Leading the charge in the development of the Polestar 6 is Chris Baguely, the head of car dynamics engineering at Polestar. His expertise and experience, along with that of Thomas Ingenlath, CEO of Polestar, who was previously the senior vice president of design at Volvo Cars, ensure that the 6 Concept is in good hands.

BST could become the “fast” name for future performance-focused things, even if this is just a prototype for now. The company introduced the Polestar 2 BST 270 in 2022, a modified version of the 469-hp Performance model. The limited-edition Polestar 2 BST 230 had many of the same changes in 2023.

Polestar is showing off a wider range of cars at Goodwood, such as the Polestar 2 hatchback and the Polestar 3 and 4 SUVs. The Festival of Speed, which has the craziest cars from around the world, started today and will go on until July 14. It is the most exciting car show in the UK.
