As you know, you need a way to carry your whiskey box and custom-engraved guns, but you don’t want to get your Rolls-Royce dirty while you’re quail shooting with your friends. Everyone had been there. Hurtan, a Spanish company, has the right car for you: a Jeep Wrangler with a body that looks like an off-road vehicle from the 1930s.

Even though the Hurtan Vintage is a Jeep Wrangler made for the JK generation, it looks like something Jay Gatsby would drive off-road. With its swoopy front fenders, fender-mounted spare wheel, huge headlamps that stick out, and rounded rear roofline, the new Wrangler body now looks like an Art Deco car. The door handles show that it’s a Wrangler, but the general shape looks a lot like a sedan from the 1930s. The famous Jeep grille has also been replaced by a huge gold grille that looks like a Rolls-Royce from the 1930s.

The Vintage’s center roof panels can still be taken off, which lets a huge panoramic sunroof be made, even though the roof doesn’t lift like it does on a stock Wrangler.

There are a few changes inside. Hurtan changed the seats’ upholstery to softer leather, added “Vintage” logos to the headrests, and put wood in place of the standard Jeep trim. Besides that, the inside looks a lot like the inside of a JK Jeep Wrangler. That’s okay, though, because the inside has modern conveniences, and the outside has an old-fashioned look.

You can change the color schemes of Hurtan Vintages by using one- or two-tone paints on the outside and different finishes on the inside. Hurtan says you can choose between a 2.2-liter diesel engine with 197 horsepower or a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine with 266 horsepower. Both have automatic engines and four-wheel drive. The 2.0-liter turbo-four engine came out for Jeep in the JL generation, but it’s great to see that it’s now available.

If you can get past the jokes about socialites, the Hurtan Vintage is really pretty. You’ve seen a lot of SUVs like this one. It’s a one-of-a-kind custom-body car that gives it some style and personality. However, since the Vintage is basically a regular Jeep on the inside, parts are easy to find and don’t cost much, making it a low-maintenance car.

Because each car is made to order, Hurtan doesn’t say how much Vintage costs or if you will have to find the Wrangler yourself. This is the only way to go off-road in a real 1930s style, but it’s costly.
