The Hyundai Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum Edition can now be bought, the company said in October. It’s also taking its Mickey Mouse-shaped wheels with it, which may be more important. Also, in a few years, these Mickey wheels might be worth a lot of money to car fans who like unique wheel designs or who identify as Disney Adults.

Hyundai showed off the Ioniq 5 with Disney themes for the first time at the New York Auto Show last year. At the time, the car company said that it would finally be sold as a limited-edition car. Still, it’s strange to see it at car lots with wheels that look like Mickey Mouse. Because there are only 1,000 cars made, there will only be 1,000 sets of these wheels made. Because some people can get really crazy about Disney items, it’s easy to see dedicated collectors following them around.

Soon, the Hyundai Ioniq 5 factory will make Disney souvenirs like Mickey Mouse wheels

It wasn’t long ago that Hyundai made some weird wheels that looked like popular cartoon figures. The first Ronal Teddy was a device in the shape of a bear that came on the Mazda 121 in the early 1990s. Also, the Japanese company used to make a special 121 called “Goldy” that was only sold in Europe. The wheel covers were made of Haribo gummy bears. For the most picky bear-wheel fans, the small hatch even came with a special set of wheels shaped like a koala. People who like cars like all of those cute and odd wheels, even though Mazda was thought to be acting strangely in the 1990s. A set of teddies can easily fetch $1,000 on the second-hand market.

The bear-shaped wheels that were described earlier stand out a lot more than Hyundai’s Mickey Mouse-themed wheels. It took me a while to figure out that they had Mickey’s signature ear shape in them. They do look like neat, abstract wheels to someone who doesn’t know much about them, which could be a good thing. You know that you are. They make me think of the Giulia Quadrifoglio from Alfa Romeo.

In a few years, Hyundai’s Mickey Mouse wheels could become very famous among car fans and collectors, especially if Disney fans get involved. It makes sense that some of the 1,000 people who own Ioniq 5 Disney100 Platinum edition electric SUVs will have to give up their original wheels so that they can be found. Luckily, Disney characters are still embroidered on the headrests and floor mats. The personalized EV costs $60,775 and comes with delivery.
