The engineering and creativity of cars can go in any direction. Every time I’ve seen the strangest thing, I see something even stranger, like a heavy-duty pickup truck with a Mack truck cab, a VW Beetle turned into a pickup truck, or a motorbike with 24 cylinders. So, I shouldn’t be surprised to see a body kit on this 2016 Nissan Titan XD PRO-4X that makes it look like a 1967 International Harvester Scout.

Steel Farm Customs in Pennsylvania is to blame for this significant change. They started making similar builds after seeing the shop’s Facebook page. On Fourbie Exchange, you can now buy this kind of car.

Making a full-size pickup truck that looked like an SUV from the 1960s was challenging. The Titan’s length was first cut down from 139.8 inches to 93.8 inches. The cab and bed of the Titan were then joined by new quarter panels that looked like the original Scout panels. A handmade bed hat was made to finish off the look. In the end, a Ford F-100 windshield was put on the car to keep its original vertical angle.

The ’67 Scout is no longer made. All of the bumpers, most of the features, and most of the body were made to order. The outside of the Scout is very different from the inside of the truck, which is made totally of Titan.

Overall, it looks like the result could be better. Even though it seems more modern than restomod, it has restomod features like redesigned bumpers, LED lights, and a low floor line. Scouting fans will be able to tell the difference, primarily due to the lower ground clearance compared to an actual Scout. Also, the new panels and door closing lines don’t fit with the old ones. Since the Titan’s undercarriage hangs lower, the shields must be more significant to hide the ugly parts.

If this is your bag, you could get it all for $90,000. It’s still a Nissan Titan with a 5.0-liter Cummins diesel engine and four-wheel drive at the end of the day. To put it simply, it looks different.
