• The first Dodge Viper looked a lot like the famous Shelby Cobras from the 1990s.
  • The Viper is not a modest car. It has a V-10 engine with 400 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox.
  • This example has a beautiful and unique mix of colors. You can bid on it until Thursday, February 22.

As soon as the Dodge Viper came out in the early 1990s, it was like having a metal chair fold out from behind your head. There was not a single window. You will get a mark on your leg from side-exit exhausts that are made for a Texas cowboy. An 8.0-liter V-10 engine powers five of the fastest Honda Civics ever made. How can the judge let this happen? Even so, the crowd roared with praise.

The 1994 Dodge Viper RT/10 is bad in black and is being auctioned off on Bring a Trailer

Just like Invoice Pricing, Bring a Trailer, a part of Hearst Autos, is auctioning off a beautiful first-generation Viper that looks like a reptile. The majority of early Vipers are red over gray, but this one stands out because it is black on the outside and tan on the inside. On the outside, there are small changes that can be seen, such as 18-inch H-pattern wheels from a 2006–2010 Viper and a hood from the second model. Huge Michelin Pilot tires put on the back of this first-generation Viper make it look even more brazen. The date code shows that the rubber was made in 2007, even though there are still a lot of treads left. Because of this, buying new rubber might be a good idea. Vipers will be less likely to bite when they are pushed if the tires are clean.

Invoice Pricing gave the Viper a good review in 1992, saying, “With the engine running at full tilt and the wind ripping new configurations in your brows, you’re not going to give a whit about windows or door handles being missing.” This Viper is one of the most exciting rides since Ben Hur found the chariot.

When it was brand new, the 8.0-liter V-10 engine made 400 horsepower. If you could shift the heavy gear quickly enough, a Viper could beat a Corvette ZR1 in the quarter-mile. The engine doesn’t sound very good and idles like a delivery truck, but when it gets to 3000 rpm, it roars very loudly. Each of those ten cylinders is big enough for a bottle of Jack Daniel’s, and when a Viper is running at full speed, it sounds like whiskey is being burned.

There was a mistake in the miles in 2012, but it was just a typo since the previous owner probably didn’t drive 80,000 kilometers in one month. The mileage reading is 25,000 kilometers.

An original Viper is very classy, but it’s also basic and inconvenient. Be careful because it will either burn you or throw you into the ditch if you don’t. In the 1990s, it was made as a joke about how violent the original Shelby Cobra was. Since then, it has become a famous car in its own right. Come on over and bid before February 22, which is the end of the sale. Referee, who is going to stop you? Move quickly when he’s not looking!
