The new Lexus TX 2024 has arrived. It is a three-row family hauler with much room and outstanding capability. It is built on top of the Toyota Grand Highlander. Lexus’s first SUV with open space for cargo behind the third row is the TX. It will come with a range of powertrains, including a V6 plug-in hybrid with 406 horsepower, and all signs point to it being a formidable competitor in the class.

Highlights? Several things come to mind. The 550h+ is the top trim level of the TX. It is a plug-in hybrid with an all-electric range of 33 miles and 30 mpg. It can carry seven people and a lot of gear. Also, all models come with an all-wheel drive, and enough USB ports are inside to keep any kid with an iPad happy.

The awkward three-row midsize RX has been taken out (for now) as part of that SUV’s generational facelift. Only the LX and the soon-to-be-replaced GX have three rows of seats. Conversely, the TX is different because it was the first Lexus to comfortably seat seven people and have a large amount of luggage space (20 cubic feet) behind the third row. We can see that it will be a great car trip movie.

The Lexus TX 350 is the most inexpensive model, with a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 275 horsepower. The price has yet to be discovered. Even though AWD is a choice, it uses the most gas because it is the only trim that doesn’t have front-wheel drive. The TX500h is a step up, with 366 hybrid horsepower, all-wheel industry, and a combined 24 mpg fuel economy. Surprisingly, this version can also be bought with four-wheel drive, which makes the car more stable on the highway and helps with its size in parking lots.

You want the TX550h+, even though it won’t be ready at launch. It gets 30 MPG, has all-wheel drive, and 406 horsepower thanks to its solid hybrid drivetrain and 3.5-liter V6 engine. Since the electric power is sent to all four wheels, the TX550h is said to be very sensitive to the throttle. The big battery lets you drive 33 miles on electric power alone, but the company still needs to release information about charging rates or other battery information.

At 203.5 inches long, the TX is just over seven inches shorter than a similar Chevy Tahoe with three rows and some trunk room. Because of this, its trunk space of 20.1 cubic feet is slightly smaller. When the third row is pulled down, the Lexus has a lot of space: 57.4 cubic feet. If every seat behind the driver folds down, that’s 97 cubic feet. This is still less than a Tahoe or Yukon of the same size, but the TX’s excellent gas mileage, all-electric range, and other features may make a buyer choose it over a three-row vehicle made in the US or elsewhere.

The cabin has three full-size power outlets and seven USB charge ports. Buyers can choose between a 40/60 split bench and two captain’s chairs for the second row. If you use the third row sparingly, the captain’s seats give you the choice of a central console for the second row, which can be used to store things. Some more admirable features are a 21-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system, many moveable cupholders, and heated seats in the second row.

The driver can also take advantage of several excellent amenities. A 12.3-inch digital gauge panel can be paired with an optional heads-up display and a 14-inch infotainment screen that is neatly built into the dashboard. Drivers are also kept on their toes by several help and safety features. A pre-collision system that can spot pedestrians can help you avoid accidents, and the TX will help you stay in your lane by telling you to go back if you go too far from the dashed lines. Radar cruise control is an excellent addition to all of this, but it needs to be clarified how many of these features will be standard.

The TEXAS doesn’t have a unique exterior. The Grand Highlander inspires its overall shape, but it’s a clean design, and Lexus did an excellent job of adapting the new RX’s nose for it. Standard wheels are 20 inches, and 22-inch wheels can be found on higher-end models. The three-row Lexus comes in five shades of grey, a bright white, a shiny black, and two natural colours: Matador Red Mica and Nightfall Mica, dark blue. Interior shades include Peppercorn, Birch, and Black.

This fall, dealers can sell the TX 350 and 500h.
