• Porsche has shown off the inside of the 2024 Panamera. The car will be officially unveiled on November 24.
  • One screen is in the middle, one is for the front passenger, and there is also a 12.6-inch set of gauges.
  • The gear selector has been moved from the center panel to the dashboard to make it less crowded there.

A lot of changes are going to be made to the 2018 Porsche Panamera before it is shown off on November 24. We tested a camouflaged prototype of the curved four-door earlier this year and found it to be a quick and agile highway mile eater. Now, Porsche has decided to reveal the interior design of the 2024 Panamera, which shows what looks like a sophisticated and user-friendly cabin.

Porsche says that the “driver-centered” design puts driving-related features around the steering wheel to make them easier to use while driving. This design is based on what Porsche learned from making the electric Taycan. The switch for the gauge cluster and the switch for the drive mode are both on the steering wheel, just like on other Porsches. You can control the curved 12.6-inch gauge panel from the steering wheel, and you can also use a head-up display or not.

In line with the Taycan, the 2024 Panamera’s gear selector has been moved to the dashboard, between the center touchscreen and the collection of gauges. This makes room in the center console for the climate settings, which have both touch and hard buttons. Air vents no longer have fins and are completely electronic, letting you set different temperature control modes. The center storage bin can hold more things as well.

It needs to be clarified what size the main touchscreen is, but Porsche put a second, unknown screen in front of the passenger. A lot of cars, like the 2024 Mercedes E-class and Jeep Grand Wagoneer, come with this feature as an option. The people in the back seats have screens that they can use to change the temperature, music, and seat comfort. The dashboard still has a traditional clock on top of it, and for the first time in a Porsche, ambient lighting covers the whole thing.

The Executive models with longer wheelbases have a “newly contoured rear seat system” that is meant to make the backseat riders’ comfort better. Porsche also said that for the first time, the Panamera would be offered with seats that aren’t made of leather. Pepita fabric, which is also called houndstooth, and Race-Tex, a sporty microfiber made in part from recycled polyester, are two examples. At the end of the month, more information about the Panamera will be released, such as the sizes of the two touchscreens on the front.
