• Audi has unveiled the 2025 Q5 Sportback along with its sportier version, the SQ5 Sportback.
  • The Q5 comes standard with all-wheel drive and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, featuring a 268-hp turbocharged four-cylinder engine, while the SQ5 is equipped with a 362-hp turbocharged V-6.
  • Audi has not yet revealed U.S. specifications or pricing for the new Q5 and SQ5 Sportback, but this information will be announced in the coming months.

If you think the normal model is too square, you can get the Audi Q5 Sportback. It has fewer lines, but it’s still beautiful to look at, even though the sloped-back Q5 loses some cargo space for looks’ sake. This is true for the Audi SQ5 Sportback, too, though it drives faster. We’re still waiting for Audi to tell us more about the twin Sportbacks that are coming to the US, but the company released information today about both of its small luxury SUVs.

The 2025 Audi Q5 And SQ5 Sportback Join Their More Square SUV Cousins

To refresh your mind, Audi has already shown off the newest Q5 and SQ5, which will be available along with the current model in 2025. The latest iPhone 5s are built on a modular base called PPC, which stands for “Premium Platform Combustion.” They also have well-known engines that have been made better and now come with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine in the new Q5 produces only 268 horsepower, whereas the 3.0-liter V-6 turbocharged engine in the new SQ5 produces 362 horsepower. Standard all-wheel drive is also included with every SUV. Audi hasn’t announced the powertrain specs yet, but we think the Q5 and SQ5 Sportback will be on par with their more square-shaped siblings.

Both Sportbacks have more expressive looks thanks to bigger grilles, daytime running lights that look like eyebrows, and sharper headlights with daytime running lights that look like eyebrows. The headlights now go across the whole width of the brother and sister Sportbacks. In some countries, the OLED parts can make unique patterns, but that ability can’t be used in the US because of rules. But it’s easy to see that the Q5 and SQ5 have new wheels and better bodywork. The faster SQ5 is based on the S version of the Q5, which has bigger air intakes up front and a diffuser in the back. Compared to the regular Q5 and SQ5, their falling rear top looks smoother than before, but it makes it harder to load things. The Sportbacks can hold up to 50 cubes when they are folded flat and up to 18 cubes behind the back seats.

The inside of the new Q5 and SQ5 Sportback is laid out and equipped similarly to the rest of the range. The panel is full of digital screens, from the 11.9-inch gauge cluster to the 14.3-inch touchscreen in the middle. There is also a head-up display and a 10.9-inch touchscreen that faces the rider.

In Europe, the 2025 Audi Q5 Sportback and its sportier sibling, the SQ5 Sportback, will be available in early 2025. Audi hasn’t yet said what the US cars will be like or how much they will cost, but we expect to hear that information in the coming months. Retailers should have access to the Sportback versions by year’s end.
