• The 2025 Audi RS Q8 will have a top-of-the-line Performance version with 631 horsepower, which will bring it closer to the Lamborghini Urus, which has 657 horsepower.
  • The new R.S. Q8 Performance has 40 more horsepower. It also has carbon-ceramic brakes, a specially tuned air suspension, and 23-inch forged metal wheels that can be ordered separately.
  • The information we learned today only applies to the European version. However, we expect that information about the U.S. version, including the price, will be made public in the coming months.

Many years ago, the Lamborghini Urus and the Audi RS Q8 shared a twin-turbo V-8 engine. However, the SUV with the Italian name had a huge power edge until now. In 2025, the R.S. Q8 will get a small facelift and a new top-of-the-line Performance model with 631 horsepower. This is 40 more horsepower than the regular R.S. Q8 and only 26 less than the 657-hybrid Urus. The plug-in hybrid Urus, with 789 horsepower, leaves everything alone.

Check out the Performance. BMW RS Q8

The 2025 Audi RS Q8 still comes with a 4.0-liter V-8 engine, eight-speed automatic transmission, and quattro all-wheel drive as standard. The base engine in the R.S. Q8 still makes 591 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Audi says that when you upgrade to the Performance model, you get a new exhaust system that raises the engine’s peak power to 631 horsepower and 627 pound-feet. It’s also less heavy, louder, and puts less pressure on your back. You can get even louder music with the R.S. sport exhaust, which is an extra add-on.

We got the last R.S. Q8 to 60 mph in 3.2 ticks, so a time under 3 seconds wouldn’t surprise us with the R.S. Q8 Performance. It’s said to go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Along with more power, both the Performance model and the regular R.S. Q8 have height-adjustable air suspension, but they are set to different levels. Both models come with basic 48-volt anti-roll bars and four-wheel steering, which makes the car more stable and quick by letting the back wheels turn up to 1.5 degrees.

Along with the regular 22-inch wheels, the R.S. Q8 Performance can also come with bigger 23-inch forged wheels. According to Audi, the bigger rollers cut the total amount of unsprung mass by 44 pounds. Ten-piston front brake calipers stop the car, and the Performance and R.S. Q8 models come with 17.3-inch front and 14.6-inch back carbon ceramic rotors as standard.

The R.S. Q8 has a new look

The Audi RS Q8’s front end has been changed with a new bumper that lets in more air. The honeycomb cells on the grille are now three-dimensional, and the mesh design looks like it has more holes than it did before. The grille also has a rim that stands out more. The Performance version is different from the basic R.S. Q8 because its skin is matte.

The SUV also comes with the newly updated Audi Q8’s Matrix LED headlights as standard. If you want, you can also get an H.D. set with high-beam laser lighting. The daytime running lights come in five different styles, and one of them looks like a striped flag. The R.S. Q8 is the first car to have OLED lamps that can give off five different types of light.

The Performance package includes unique paint colors and exterior decorations, as well as matte gray side mirrors, a front spoiler, and a rear diffuser. For an extra fee, you can get these pieces in shiny black or matte carbon.

Audi gives you two color choices for the R.S. design kits on the inside: red and gray. You can choose a different color for the floor mats, seat belts, center panels, and seats. The R.S. Q8 has a bright microsuede on the sides of the shifter, steering wheel, and center panel. This material can be used on more areas, like the door panels and center armrests, with the R.S. design package plus, which also comes in two color options. The color you choose will show through the open seat centers and the R.S. logo that is raised on the seatbacks.

The “Virtual Cockpit,” the 12.3-inch digital instrument panel on the Performance model, looks a lot like the one on the basic R.S. Q8, but in manual mode, it has an extra shift light.

So far, Audi has only talked about the European R.S. Q8, which goes on sale this month. However, we hope to learn more about the U.S. plan in the next few months. We will learn about prices at that time. Price-wise, the 2024 Audi RS Q8 began at $126,995.
