The 2025 Ford Expedition has a lot of cool new features thanks to its major makeover. More Ford models now have the BlueCruise hands-free mode. The center panel slides and the full-size SUV’s dashboard has a 24-inch screen. The Expedition now has a split-folding liftgate and new bumpers in the front and back. It is also available in the Tremor trim level, which is designed for off-road use. For the past twenty years, the Ford Expedition has been the SUV version of the very famous F-150 pickup truck. The full-size ute still has three rows of seats and is built body-on-frame, but it will be completely rebuilt for 2025 with new high-tech comforts and a fresh look. Newly Unveiled Expedition The new Expedition’s front end fits together better. The unusual front lighting is linked to a lit strip below the grille, and the daytime running lights make it look even bigger than it was before by shaping it into wings. There are clever new parts in the liftgate, and the headlights now have vertical parts. Like the new Lincoln Navigator, it has an upper and lower half that can be opened instantly when the key fob is close by. The bottom part of the liftgate can also be used to block things that like to roll, like a bunch of deflated footballs or round snacks. The bottom part can be folded down to make a bench or table for short-term use. Anyone can use the brand-new Cargo Tailgate Manager, which has legs that fold out to make a seatback or second-level shelf, with any setup. It is kept under the floor of the cargo area. The ’25 Expedition comes with an option for four-zone outdoor lighting that is great for camping at night or tailgating parties. The new tablet in the middle can be used to control each of the lights on the roof separately. Instead of 122.5 inches, the Expedition Max’s length is 131.5 inches, which is longer than the Expedition. A well-known 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission can power either the back wheels or all four of them. The engine makes 400 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque when it is regularly tweaked. The high-output V-6 can make up to 440 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque when higher-octane premium fuel is used. The latter comes standard on the top-of-the-line Platinum trim, but you can choose to avoid having it on the brand-new Tremor. The rest of the 2025 Expedition lineup, including the high-end King Ranch and the base-level Active, is powered by the S/O V-6. Ford says that the highest weight that can be pulled has gone up from 9300 pounds to 9600 pounds. Expanded Screen Space and Sliding Console If you got it, Ford has completely changed the Expedition’s dashboard to have a bigger screen average. The full-size SUV used to come with a 15.5-inch touchscreen that was placed vertically and a 12.4-inch digital instrument panel. A new 24-inch unit that sits on top of the dash at the base of the windshield has taken the place of all of that. Ford says that this lets drivers keep their eyes on the road while reading the instruments or map information on the right side. Sawing off the top of the Expedition’s steering wheel so that it doesn’t get in the way of the view is what made the bottom “squircle”-shaped and flat. The rest of the revised dash is more rounded and made of a variety of beautiful materials. The sound system’s speakers are hidden behind a fabric-trimmed upper part. An 8-inch tablet in the middle of the dashboard is at the heart of the new Ford Digital Experience entertainment system. It came out on the 2025 Explorer and is built on software from Google. This means that both Google and Amazon Alexa can power the voice assistant. Apple users don’t need to worry because Android Auto and wifi CarPlay are still widely used. The Ford Connectivity package also comes with a wifi hotspot, the Google Play Store, and Maps. People who want to buy Expedition can either pay all at once or get a free trial for a year. After that, they can decide if they want to pay for a yearly membership. A similar method is available for BlueCruise hands-free driving mode, but you have to wait 90 days before you can sign up for a monthly or yearly ticket. The newest SAE Level 2 system from Ford makes it possible for more Expedition models to have better features and more of them to be available. The 2018 Expedition also has a power-sliding center console that can be pulled back about eight inches to make space for small items like a bag or maybe even drugs to hide from the police. It works the same way as the one in the GMC Yukon, but it’s still useful. Ford also made holders that fit under the front headrests to protect people in the second row who are carrying smartphones or computers. A new 40/20/40 split-folding seat was added to the back rows. It can be folded up to make room for long things like skis or lumber. Behind the third row, the longer Expedition Max has 36 cubic feet of space for goods, while the shorter Expedition only has 22 cubic feet. Ford has yet to reveal the price of the 2025 Expedition, but you can place your order starting October 24. The first vehicles will be available for sale in the spring of next year. A normal wheelbase model with rear-wheel drive will start at around $60,000.
