• A brand-new Land Rover Defender type, called OCTA, will come out in 2025.
  • It boasts a 4.4-liter V-8 twin-turbo engine that, after numerous enhancements, unleashes a staggering 626 horsepower, igniting a thrill of excitement in every journey.
  • The Edition One package costs $15,800 more than the $103,475 price of the OCTA at first.

Land Rover has released a new Defender model that is faster, more exclusive, and more expensive than any other Defender model. This model is definitely aimed at competing with the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen. The biggest and best model, the 2025 Land Rover Defender OCTA, has a much higher starting price of $153,475. It tries to explain this by having a new engine, more off-road upgrades, and better looks inside and out.

The 2025 Land Rover Defender OCTA will be faster, stronger, and tougher

The new engine is a 4.4-liter BMW twin-turbo V-8 that makes 626 hp and 553 lb-ft of torque. This V-8, which is now offered in several Range Rover models, is much better than the Defender’s old supercharged 5.0-liter V-8. With the right tires, Land Rover will allow 155 mph. The OCTA makes a scary sound thanks to its four exhaust pipes. An eight-speed automatic gearbox is standard, and Land Rover says the car can go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.

The new Defender has an extra 1.1 inches of ground clearance, a track that is 2.7 inches wider, and wheel-and-tire sets with diameters between 20 and 22 inches. The front brakes are bigger than the ones on the base model. Graphite spray is on the underside of the car, and the front bumper and bonnet have been changed. Land Rover also says that the OCTA’s wider width meant that yellow signal lights had to be added to the front. If you press a button on the steering wheel for a long time, you can access an extra OCTA drive mode that gives you more setting options and off-road-focused launch control.

Inside, sporty seats are covered in semi-aniline leather or a variety of other materials, such as Kvadrat cloth or Ultrafabrics material, which are more durable. The chairs also have speakers and technology built in that make the seat move when music plays. The only version that will have the OCTA is the 110, which has five seats.

Land Rover wants people to be excited about the OCTA, which is named after the octahedron shape of a diamond because there will only be 300 of them made. In the future, either the number of cars being made should grow beyond that, or a similar V-8 type should become available. But people who buy early will be able to pick up a special Edition One package with unique graphics. This version, which will cost an extra $169,275, will have special 20-inch wheels, carbon trim, and green plush inside. A matte wrap can be chosen.

Land Rover says that the OCTA will be shown to the public for the first time at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK later this month. Orders are now being taken.
