• Mercedes-Benz is launching a new addition to the GLE-class lineup: the 2025 GLE450 4Matic Coupe.
  • The latest version of this mid-size luxury SUV merges the coupe body style, which was once exclusive to the AMG GLE53 and GLE63 configurations, with a less powerful engine.
  • The GLE450 Coupe is currently available for sale, starting at $77,550.

After BMW came out with the X6, Mercedes quickly joined the brave new world of “coupe” SUVs. Because of this, we aren’t surprised that the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe is getting more options to meet those of its main competitors. In 2025, the GLE Coupe will now come in a GLE450 4Matic version.

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe Lineup Now Includes A Non-AMG Base GLE450

The coupe body shape used to be found only on higher-performance AMG models, but now it matches the GLE with the BMW X6, which has a similar xDrive40i model at the bottom of its range.

Like the X6, the GLE450 has a 3.0-liter inline-six compressor that makes it go. Featuring 375 horsepower, 369 pound-feet of torque, all-wheel drive, and a nine-speed automatic transmission, Mercedes impresses on all fronts. The GLE450 is different from other GLE-class SUVs because it has a sloped back, but it doesn’t have the sporty looks of the AMG models.

If you compare this new version to the base 429-hp Mercedes-AMG GLE53, which costs $93,300, you can save $15,750 on the GLE Coupe. The price difference between the GLE450 Coupe and the GLE450 SUV is $5,550, though, if you want to stand out.

Mercedes says the GLE450 Coupe will be ready in the fourth quarter of 2024. Sales of the GLE class will be 12% higher than in the same quarter of 2023.
