Nissan has made a brand-new large SUV. Now in its third generation, the 2025 Nissan Armada has a striking new look, more technology, more comfort, and a tough Pro-4X trim.

The new Armada’s 3.5-liter twin-turbo VR35DDTT V6 engine has 425 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque, which is 25 horsepower and 103 lb-ft more than the old V8. Nissan says this is the most common horsepower in its class, so it doesn’t need to be electric. The 2025 Armada can pull up to 8,500 pounds behind it. It has paddle shifters and a nine-speed automatic gearbox. Nissan made a system that checks for trailer blind spots.

The 2025 Nissan Armada is stronger, has more room, is nicer, and is more rugged

All-terrain tires, a locking differential, skid plates, a 33.9-degree approach angle (25.3 breaks over, 24.3 exits), and an adjustable air suspension are all part of the Pro-4X package. That’s not all; the car has Hill Descent Control, many off-road drive modes, and a camera system that lets you see right down into the engine bay, like a Land Rover. The Armada Pro-4X is 9.6 inches above the ground.

Each of the new Armadas is a body-on-frame SUV with double spring suspension in the front and back. Higher-end models have air suspension, while lower-end models have coil suspension.

Nissan wants people to know that the new Armada can go off-road by saying it is “closely related to” the new Patrol, which is also being shown off today in other countries, and the fancier Infiniti QX80.

A new Platinum Reserve specification, on the other hand, comes with 22-inch wheels (18s are normal), air suspension that can be adjusted, and front seats that massage. Nissan is very proud of the new Armada’s technology, which includes 64-color ambient lighting, two extra 14.3-inch screens with Google Maps built-in (two 12.3-inch screens come standard), and an optional 12-speaker, 600-watt Klipsch audio system. There are six USB-C ports and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as standard.

The legroom has grown by 4.2 inches in the first row and 5.7 inches in the third. There is also 24% more space for bags behind the third seat than before, at 20.4 cubic feet. Most importantly, there are eight cupholders and four bottle holders spread out.

The 2025 Armada will go on sale in late 2024, but Nissan has yet to announce the price of its new top SUV.
