The official word from Jeep is that its first electric car, the 2025 Wagoneer S, will be sold in the US starting in the fall of 2024. A sneak peek picture displays a front end that is an exact copy of the concept 2022 Wagoneer S. Jeep also said it had the same 600 horsepower and 3.5-second 0–60 mph time as when it first came out in 2022. Jeep’s first electric car, the Wagoneer S, has finally been confirmed. It’ll be sold this fall. In 2022, Jeep showed off idea pictures of the Wagoneer S and the Recon, an electric SUV with a boxy shape. Jeep first said that the word “Wagoneer S” was just a codename, but it looks like the company plans to use that name for its first electric car. The Wagoneer S is a mid-size model from Jeep. Its name is the same as the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, which are big gas-powered SUVs. It’s smaller than the Wagoneer S. Even though the latest picture from Jeep only shows the front end at night, it looks like the LED hood and other design cues from the early concept photos are still there. Jeep also confirmed what they already said, saying that the 600-horsepower Wagoneer S can reach 60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Surprisingly, the most current release talks about something other than the 400-mile range that Jeep had said would be available by 2022. In the US, sales will start in the fall of 2024. Official news should be coming soon. Jeep is calling the Wagoneer S its first global electric vehicle (EV). This could mean that the Recon, which was also meant to come out in 2024, will happen differently than planned. Around the world, Jeep already offers the small Avenger with an electric drivetrain. Since Stellantis, the company that owns Jeep, has been slow to switch to electric cars, none of its brands sell EVs in the US right now. When the ProMaster EV and Ram 1500 REV come out in 2024, that will be different. Dodge has hinted that an electric Charger is coming soon, and Fiat will sell an electric 500 car in the US.
