“Ronin” is the name of a masterless warrior who roamed the land with a sword for hire, ready to fight any enemy who set up a fighting position. It’s also the name of a 1998 car-chase action movie. It could be a decent name for the upcoming Fisker Ronin, designed to compete with several fast electric cars coming out soon. The GT EV’s CEO quipped that it’s all about the movie. Today, company founder Henrik Fisker launched the Ronin in California. The 2024 Ocean electric crossover will launch the name. Ronin is Fisker’s most significant car, unlike its cheap Pear hatchbacks and cool Alaska pickup truck. The Ronin is unique, like all Fiskers—a unique sports automobile with a large back deck and towering bonnet. Henrik’s Tramonto and Karma designs are comparable. The Pear and Alaska’s unified lightbar with split-stripe LED highlights will become Fisker’s hallmark. Its fascia suggests the brand’s future strategy. This automobile is unique. Like the Mazda RX-8, the Ronin’s back doors open oppositely. This makes the two rows of five seats accessible. Fisker claims its four-door, five-seat hardtop convertible is the first of its kind. Jeep Wranglers would dispute this. Ronin has a 1,000-horsepower, triple-motor, all-wheel-drive drivetrain. That system should enable a two-second 0–60 mph sprint. Range determines the car’s grand travel aims. Fast EVs are not new. Fisker’s battery pack won’t be under the floor like most EVs. Instead, it will be incorporated into the car, increasing its range to 600 miles. The finished car may have swivelling screens and ocean-inspired recycled materials, unlike the Ronin design model at the presentation. The Ronin will be a 2026 model because it won’t be produced until 2025. Fisker may leverage its Foxconn or Magna Steyr relationships to create automobiles. Polestar, Genesis, and Tesla’s future luxury EV convertibles will face Fisker’s racing car. The $385,000 Fisker Ronin can be ordered with a $2,000 deposit.
