Jeep released a sketch of the new Compass, giving fans a sneak peek at the small SUV’s design. The new Compass will be built on Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform, which can support gas, hybrid, and electric drivetrains. After being made in Italy in 2025 and in North America in 2026, the Compass will make its debut in Europe. Jeep’s inventory of small SUVs has been gradually reduced in recent years, with the Cherokee terminated and the Compass currently offered in only four specification levels. With the debut of a new generation Compass in the coming years, the company intends to reinvigorate the industry. A new sketch of Jeep’s next Compass shows that it will look sportier than the current model. Jeep said that the new Compass will be based on Stellantis’ STLA Medium platform and will be available in gas, hybrid, and electric forms. The wheelbase of the modular platform can be changed to accommodate different plans that are between 106 and 114 inches long. This means that the Compass’s length will likely get longer than the current 103.8 inches. The new generation’s 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine makes 200 horsepower. It has an automatic transmission with eight speeds and moves all four wheels. While performance isn’t the main focus, it does compare well to competitors, hitting 60 mph in 7.5 seconds in our tests. With a crawl gear and an extra drive mode, the Trailhawk model now has an even more advanced AWD. The 2025 model costs between $27,495 and $33,990 to begin with. Europe will be the first place to buy the new Compass, followed by the rest of the world and North America. Production is set to begin in Melfi, Italy, in 2025 and move to North America in 2026.
