Shelby American showed off the 2024 Super Snake, a one-of-a-kind model built on the new S650 Mustang that will only be made in 250 units. The 5.0-liter V-8 engine in the Super Snake can make either 480 or 830 horsepower. The 830 horsepower version has a 3.0-liter Whipple blower that boosts it. New wheels, a Borla exhaust, stronger brakes, better cooling, and a new chassis system are also included. Shelby American is bringing the 2024 Super Snake to the modern Mustang age. It is based on the S650 generation. Like most of the cars that leave the Shelby garage, the new Super Snake is meant to make the source car faster and more prestigious. The engine comes in two different types. The Coyote 5.0-liter V-8 Mustang engine powers both. The first choice comes with the normal 480 horsepower Mustang GT, while the second choice adds a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger to boost power to almost 830 horsepower. No matter how much power it has, the Super Snake has better cooling, stronger brakes, unique wheels, a rebuilt suspension, and a Borla exhaust. Each powertrain choice has two or three pedals. The manual option has a one-piece driveshaft and a short-throw shifter. Joe Conway, CEO of Shelby American, says that the Shelby Super Snake was based on Ford’s best sports car, the Mustang, and was made to be the best of our performance cars. It backs up Carroll Shelby’s claim that each version of a car is better than the last. Shelby American not only makes the Mustang faster, but it also gets rid of extra weight in a way that looks like a snake losing its skin. The widebody kit gives the Super Snake a new front fascia, rockers, and carbon-fiber front fenders. It also gets a new metal hood. What about the wheels we talked about before? Each corner lost about nine pounds. Whether the car is a coupe or a convertible changes how the rear spoiler is set up, if you choose the droptop over the fastback, there is no big rear wing; instead, there is a duckbill bumper. Other than Shelby logos being used instead of regular Ford or Mustang logos, only a little has changed inside. A custom Shelby gear changer can be added as an extra for Super Snake cars with manual gearboxes. Shelby also says that they have yet to say how much the new Super Snake will cost, but they plan to start making them this summer. The company will only make 250 models for the 2024 model year, so if you’re interested, you need to act quickly.
