There will be a broader range of 2024 Acura TLX cars with more features. These will include the base TLX Technology and the fast Sport Type S. The redesigned front fascia is the most noticeable change for this model year. You can also get more giant screens for entertainment and the dashboard, as well as a quieter cabin. At this point, Acura’s second-generation TLX compact luxury sedan gets a minor facelift that focuses on the features that customers love most about the car: its big, attractive appearance and lots of comforts inside. The TLX’s overall look hasn’t changed (why fix something that wasn’t broken?), but the 2024 models get new, even more, sparkling frameless grilles, more color choices, and fewer models—a great example of the saying “less is more.” A less complicated TLX setup In 2023, there were about two hands’ worth of trim options to choose from, from the base model to the one-of-a-kind Type S PMC Edition. Customers asked Acura to make things easier after seeing all the different performance packages, front- or all-wheel drive, and other choices. The Technology package is now standard for 2024, but it can only be added to models with front-wheel drive. The A-Spec and Type S are the only ones left, and both have all-wheel drive. For the Type S (on top), the new grille has a tighter design. The primary and A-Spec TLX (above) has a more prominent diamond mesh pattern that sparkles and looks like dew on a spiderweb. The paint on both grilles is gloss black. There is a new radar under the Acura logo that can’t be seen but is definitely beneficial. There is also a full-surround camera on the Type S. For the Type S, the wheels are 20 inches and shiny black. For the TLX and A-Spec, the wheels are 19 inches and split five-spoke dark gray. The TLX Type S can be ordered with performance summer tires on copper 20-inch wheels, even though both cars came with all-season tires. The exhaust ends on the A-Spec are rounded off, and the rear diffuser has been changed. The Type S still has its four tips and more aggressive exhaust, but the spoiler has been changed to carbon fiber. There are now two new paint colors for the TLX. The A-Spec and Type S can only get Urban Gray Pearl, while the Technology package only gets Liquid Carbon Metallic, a darker color first seen on the MDX. There’s Nothing New Under the Skin No changes can be seen in how well the different TLX models work. The Technology and A-Spec models both have the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that makes 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. However, the A-Spec is quieter because it has better noise-canceling seats, thicker carpets, and acoustic glass in the front doors. The 3.0-liter turbo V-6 engine in the Type S makes 355 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque. The active modes change the modes so that the throttle responds faster. A 10-speed automatic gear works with both engine choices. As you step inside, you can pick from red or black leather seats. For Type S, you can also choose Pearly Orchid. It comes with a 12.3-inch digital gauge panel and a 12.3-inch center screen that is 20% bigger than the screens in the 2023 models. What’s more, the screen responds to things faster. There are standard phone features, and the TLX now has Amazon Alexa built-in. Now, people in the back seats can charge their phones, and all models come with a wireless charging pad. The TLX will be available at Acura dealerships in late November. It is a high-end option for most German sporty cars.
