There are new pictures of Aston Martin trying their planned Valhalla hypercar at Silverstone Circuit. The Valhalla has a plug-in hybrid drivetrain and a V-8 engine with two turbochargers that give it 998 horsepower. Aston Martin plans to make 999 Valhallas, and they will start making them in 2024. We get it if the many hypercar ideas Aston Martin has been working on lately have you stumped. To be clear, there are only two of them, but both of their names come from Norse lore. The AM-RB 001 was the old name for the Valkryie, which Adrian Newey made. It has an amazing 1139 horsepower from its hybrid V-12 engine. The soon-to-be Valhalla, which was first called the AM-RB 003, is another one. If you think of the Valhalla as a more manageable track weapon, then the Valkryie is Aston Martin’s idea of the perfect hypercar. The Valhalla was mostly hidden until recently. Now, the company has shared a new set of photos that show the car being tested at Silverstone. The pictures came out at the same time that more thorough testing of Aston Martin’s future hypercar began in person. A Mercedes-AMG twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine works with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox to send power to the back wheels. It has a total power output of 998 horsepower when all four electric motors are added together. One of them is inside the engine. Like the Valkyrie before it, only a certain number of Valhallas will be built. The Valkyrie could only be made in 150 spots around the world, so it is very rare. In a way, the upper class will have easier entry to Valhalla. There will only be 999 of these made, and the price will likely start at around $800,000. Aston Martin says that the Valhalla will still be made in 2024.
